Increasing light week 5 of flower

I am thinking of increasing my light schedule to 24 hrs because of humidity issues. Lights on, dehumidifier in my lung room I am between 50-55 rh. Lights out it jumps up to 70. I currently run 18/6. Should I be concerned with herming?

I was growing in my garage and it got hot quick where I live so I had to start outside I'm blooming GSC outside right now info says 70 days but it's so hot here (we had a week of triple digit temps) sorry bro I wasn't any help

No worries. I am just increasing my lights to 24. They’ll prolly end up thanking me for it lol. I’ve seen what high humidity can do to buds and it’s not pretty. Nice thick buds on the outside and mushy slime on the inside.

@roch
It shouldn't reveg, autos are "day neutral" so switching them from 18/6 to 24/0 shouldn't affect it. As mentioned though you'll be drastically increasing their DLI so consider dimming a bit.
I am aware it will not reveg.
I was just curious from my original post if there was ANY possibility of it herming.

Being a long time auto grower, I can say the primary issue that will affect an auto is heat.
Switching up lighting schedule doesn't usually affect an auto as much as the dli/ppfd ratios for the schedule you're running. Get that right for your schedule and you're good to go....let'er rip tater chip.

Can you clarify, please? When you say 'heat', do you mean; simply too much heat, or temperature swings, or more heat at one part of the grow than another?

Thanks

My inkbirds and ac infinity controls kick start adjusting when my grow area reaches 82 or so....and it seems a constant heat, unchecked for a period is worse than intermittent swings. Over the years, I'd say heat and the lack of control of it has been the biggest nemesis to health plants plus heat is degrading to mature buds IMO.

Unless your buds are seriously huge, I wouldn’t stress 70% humidity at night as long as air is still moving constantly in the tent. Fans & ventilation on always. I dealt with 70-75% nights, and yes.. I got a little paranoid, but things turned out fine. It’s happened at least one time or another in each grow. Add an air conditioner to the room the tent is in. It will keep that humidity down, and lessen the daytime heat on your plants.

As already mentioned increasing the duration of light will increase their DLI. If you over exceed what they need it will lead to light stress and could induce herms.

Interesting, thanks for the response. I usually start my outdoor in the garage and move it out after 2 or 3 weeks at the most. Because of unusually cool/wet weather, I kept half of them in the garage longer, and they probably won't go out until week 5. They'll be going from hi/low 80/68º (18.5/5.5 on/off) to significantly cooler and damper conditions, and about 6-7 hours of direct sunlight -- and at that point they will all probably have started to flower (some have already).

I'm not sure what that rather drastic environment change at that point in their development will do to/for them, I guess I'm going to find out. Other than hardening them, not much else I can do about it, they have to go out. I'm betting they'll be fine, just looking to see what I might want to keep an eye out for.
