hmm, i'm thinking they could very well be awesome to mount along the walls of those who use tupperware grows for stealth/space restrictions ... i might just give it a try on the next grow ..

They are absolutely perfect for stealth grows like that since there is no heat, and they are only a few watts!!! Plus they barely take up any space and the plants can grow all the way into them without suffering burns.

I'm with you NSW; I'm going to try one of the four packs. That should be the cat's meow for summer indoor growing. No heat, no fan needed, no cooling needed, no infared signature, no leaf burn, 100% efficiency, they last forever and a LOT less energy consumption. Can't get any better than that. Man those solve a ton of problems for me and I love doing business with HTG. Thanks!

16watts per 12" x 12" panel with 225 LED's! That would be 62.5 sq.ft. of light coverage (roughly an 8' x 8' room) for 1,000 watts.

Hey, I've bought all my stuff from HTG, I think they are faily cheap compared to many others. Can you use the LED's for the primary lighting?

Yeah you can definitely use those for primary lighting, thats what they are meant for.

From what ive read and studied, id be willing to bet one of those 4 packs would be comparable to a 400w maybe even a higher watt light.

Id bet 2 4 packs would easilly equal a 600w maybe more but your only paying for 100 watts or less of electricity every month so you would save TONS of money in the long run hell even after a few months...plus less fans, no reflectors, no venting.....I mean...it really makes perfect sense that all saves money and time and effort.

No mate leds are nowhere near as good as any kind of hid.
Used on their own they will produce only light fluffy little buds comparable to using a couple of cfls.
I would not recommend using these on their own unless you plan to buy a lot of them,like say 2 panels and 2 lamps per plant.

Thinking that you can just put 1 of these lamps in a cupboard would be foolish,you need many of them to pull of a good grow and if you do i would recommend supplementing them with a couple of fluorescent tubes in the same room.

Ive seen a couple of led grows and the buds are always small and fluffy.
Having said that i have never seen a grow that used many led panels which may be a better bet.
I still believe that for flowering hps is the best but as a side lighting for the lower buds leds are great.
They are also great for bringing on new seedlings and clones and keeping mother plants alive,whilst costing very little in electric:blsmoke:

Seems to me you would need 1 blue panel and 1 red panel and 1 red lamp and one blue lamp.
The plant would have to be rotated within this field of light every day:blsmoke:

My current setup is a mix of red/blues of CFL's .. 8 to be exact used in a 4 socket vanity with spliters .... These would be excellent in my case to add to the sides along with the CFL ... i would not use these alone regardless of there advertisment of being able to flower alone ... I also grow in tupperware, 2 36 gallon tubs ... the panels would easily mount to the sides allowing to get more light to the lower buds .... If i could, i'd go HPS all the way, but since i'd melt the box and push 120 degree temps, any side help with micro grows helps and there rather cheap to add along as you grow ... CFL/LED is ideal ... LED's alone eh, i'd have to see someone prove me wrong i guess ...

I am talking about a few panels per plant.

Im sure the led grows youve seen are the same ones ive seen because I searched around for ever single one.....

every single one of them only used a few hundred leds for a few plants.

Im thinking you need about 500 or more per plant

Im thinking they would be amazing for a huge stealth SCROG setup.

Yeah that would be cool, but I think SCROG with LEDS would be the way to go because I cant imagine them having much penetration but SCROG doesnt need light penetration....

im telling you LED SCROG is the future.

Yeah my idea was for a metre square plant enclosure that you could take 500grams of every crop.
You would have to build it yourself for it to be cost effective.
If you used it with clones in a factory line setup then it would yield a lot more and cost very little to run:blsmoke:

exactly...you could even have a few of those and get a perpetual harvest going.

Hoenstly though I dont believe LEDS will ever be able to compete with the light penetration of HIDS.....

but with ample side lighting like your idea or a scrog I think they could be used to achieve amazing results.

LEDs will be awesome, when the right equipment is used. I have been reading a little and there are many different LEDs with different intensities.
