Incresing Marijuana Yield

There are a couple of tips and tricks you can use to increase the THC content of your marijuana plants and I have listed some tricks to increase the number of females as well.

  1. Mature the plant around the 36th day, you can do this by changing the light cycle to fourteen hrs, the downfall of this is that the marijuana plant will be smaller. When doing this you should do so gradually until you hit the fourteen hr mark.
  2. Stop any watering as the marijuana plants begin, this will make the resing goto the flowers, this will achieve s small increase in the resin.
  3. Using a sunlamp on the plants when they start to delvlop flowering stocks.
  4. By snipping off the flower at the joint of the plant, this will cause a new flower in 2 weeks or so. Repeated a couple times will give you more flowers then before.
  5. By spraying the plant with "ethel" early on in the growing stage, this has been proven to produce a majority of female plants, by doing this you will also seep up the flowering which can happen in two weeks.
  6. Colchicine, which is a substance to change the growth, hard to find and expensive. To use this get a presoak solution going with water and 10% colchicine. Doing this will cause a lot of the seeds to die and be unusable However the ones that do come up will be polyploid's, the weed thats comes out of this
Post in here your tips and tricks

Nice thread Rollitup, the tips will be put to vigorous use. Just one little thing is bugging me... ethel. I read about this stuff before I started growing, but I read it as ETHREL, must I have been drinking too much mead?

I actually asked for it in my local grow shop and they had never heard of it. Surely if they had heard of it they would have realised I had made a mistake?

Do some asking around, the grow shop down here has it, Colchicine is the hard one to find and you need to find a lab to get it off of.

Increasing Marijuana Yield
there's the link, the real info. NOTICE SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT THAT WAS LEFT OUT HERE: DO NOT SMOKE PLANTS THAT WERE PROVEN POLYPOLOIDS BY COLCHICINE. THE FIRST GEN PLANTS ARE TOXIC.

I don't like any of the ideas presented on this page.

Period.

Spraying the plants with ethel alcohol?

What's next?

Strychnine?

If you want more yield, do it right. Learn how to grow.. use enough lighting to achieve at least 10,000 Lumens per square ft.. use good nutrients.. molassess works great in the flowering phase.. hydro always produces more than soil.. low temps, 50% humidity, air circulation, and the all important carbon dioxide.

I'm more of a organic man myself. All Natural!

The plant needs 12 hours of darkness per day. If the sun is giving too much light and you want to start flowering then you have to figure out when and how to give the plant what it needs. It's too bad you can't wait it out until the sun falls in line. I'm sure it would be a nice looking little beast.

Doesn't increasing the amount of light in the last couple weeks to 14 hours a day cause the hermaphrodite condition, or does it not matter that late in development?

If a plant is well into flowering and suddenly gets less than 12 hours per day of darkness for an extended period, this will cause stress, possibly leading it to turn hermaphrodite.
