Indica on the US Gulf Coast?

Here in NW Florida the rainy season is from June to August most years. A lot of my strains start to flower in July, so it is rare for me not to have some sort of rot issues. If you can wait to put them out until July it helps a lot. Of course the plants are not as big as if you did real full seasons.

I also do spring crops. But there is a risk of cold weather. Last year was a really bad year for frosts early on. I lost all of my first round of plants. This year I kept them under glass a lot later than I normally do. Still we had a freeze a couple of weeks ago that I'm sure left a mark. Also keep in mind spring crop buds are not going to be as robust due to the sun being weaker.

So this may sound simple or dumb, but i was dumbstruck when i read you can just throw a tarp over outside plants before it rains, to help keep them dry. That seems smart!

I’m not on the coast but I’m kind of close and have similar growing conditions as the OP. I prefer growing indicas because they finish faster than sativas and I try to minimize the time my plants are in the ground. For me indicas finish early September to mid/late September. Sativas always go to late October. While this may not seem like much of a difference, being done and all traces of the grow gone 4 to 6 weeks early along with sufficient yield is something I can’t pass up. Another thing I like about indicas is that they are naturally smaller and more compact than sativas. While this leads to bud rot smaller plants are much easier to conceal.

Now, herb i like you, you missfired is all. If you're gonna try to regain credentials for outdoor and greenhouse, i strongly urge you to not try it in this thread, plz.

You can light dep in a greenhouse and keep the pest down
But doing outdoor and moving plants back and forth is something someone would do to save money and in all likelihood need to spray all sorts of nasty products on
My credibility LOL
I don't need to prove anything to y'all
