Week 1 after transplanting
Starting to really stretch her first shoots. The first pair of 3 fingered leaves have showed themselves as of today! I was a little worried as the edges of the first single finger leaves are slightly curling upwards and the leaves are a little off colored, but after asking some questions around here it seems that the FoxFarms OceanForest soil is a little on the hotter side and the plant may be suffering slightly from fert burn. I transplanted rather early and most of the growth seen in the images is with this Foxfarm soil, I think if it has made it this far she is going to grow just fine.

You can clearly see the curl in the photo above ^^^ and the discoloration below

I also have a passion for photography, especially macro photography. Cant wait till she buds to get some close ups of some frosty buds.

Im still debating on what method im going to use when growing this plant. I may just let her do her thing with no training, but i have rubber wire if i end up wants to start tying branches down to let more light pernitrate to the lower leaves.

For a single plant, what would you guys do? SCROG possibly? Is it pretty common for one to top their plants? Im not sure i could cut the head off my beauty when the time came..

I think a lot of people are nervous about topping their plants when they first start out. I used to use LST only, but once I started topping aggressively, my yields exploded. Either way, you want to create a perfectly even canopy. Don't worry about topping until you've got 5 nodes or so and if you decide not to do it and only LST, be very careful not to break the branches. Small plants break at the "joint" very easily, so the best way to bend them around is by pinching the branch in the middle, then sort of wiggle it back and forth carefully without putting any pressure on the joint-you want to break up the fibers on the inside without making it snap or crack, then when it's nice and flexible, just tie it into place. Look into "Uncle Ben's topping method" for topping basics, and "mainline training" for a more advanced method. I've mainlined all of my plants to 20-30 primary bud sites for my last few grows and my yields have gone way up, so it's something to look into eventually.

yep, as long as you have good genetics you can pinch tops out al you like and it wont herm on you

WEEK 2
She is coming along great. The nute burn i was worried about in the previous post has not progressed and the plant looks pretty healthy over all.

She is just starting to sprout her first 5 fingered leaves. I love how beefy these leaves are.

At the nodes, new sprouts are starting to come in (macro photo, click to see details)

I have decided i want to go the LST route. When should i start this process? I know she still small yet, but am I getting close to be able to LST? Really wanting to get more light to those lower nodes asap.

I wouldn’t top an auto, not really much you can do with them but lst. You should still pull a couple oz just growing her straight up.

She is really starting to stretch and fill out. First signs of bud development have emerged as well. I tried my best to LST but i could not get the top to bend over like i wanted as she is so beefy. I tied down the branches instead hoping to aerate the plant a little more and help let the light pernitrate easier. Im thinking tying the lower branches down was a mistake as now as a couple are not keeping up and are getting overgrown with surrounding leaves....

Im still a little worried about the tips of the leaves being burnt. You guys have suggested that using FFOF for a seedling was probably a little hot and as the plant got older the burn would subside. The plant is approaching 1 month old and still has burnt tips but not as much tip curl. Now i cant tell if this is nute burn or nute deficient. I have fox farms line of liquid nutes, when do yall think i should start feeding her?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thank you.
