So I tried a new strain this last week that I got from a local dispensary for insomnia and it seemed to be heading in the right direction for what I need. I need a substitute for Ambien so that I don't get addicted to sleeping pills again. Anyways the strain was called Cherry Pie and it is a cross between GDP and Romulan. I want to breed it with Purple Kush to make it stronger but I have a problem. I can get clones of each strain but the thing is that they will be girls. I want to cross it to make it even more potent but I don't know where or if it is possible for me to get a Purple Kush male. I can breed it with a Northern Berry male of mine but I think that would be heading in the wrong direction because Northern Berry is a cross of Northern Lights and Blueberry, the Blueberry is more of a uplifting High for me and I want something that is going to be more of a heavy and sedative medication so as to put you out as a substitute for sleeping pills. Dose anyone have any suggestions on how I can make this work? I know that there are people on here that have more skills than me on growing, but is there anyone that knows how to cross two females?

First thing that pops to my mind is you could force them to seed, (using colloidal silver i think) and hopefully get a male or hermie from those seeds so you could do your cross breeding. I haven't cross breed (on purpose anyway), but it sounds feasible to me. Anyone else have an idea?
Yeah, also, making a stable strain would be pretty hard and time consuming like ian is saying below too

buy seeds for males. I hope you have a lot of time, space and patience, breeding is an art form well above simply growing. Good strains are typically made from the best plants selected from thousands, and bred many times: chances are you will end up with hermies or worse. but good luck

Well I don't think colloidal silver will work forcing the girls to hermie will only bring girls or hermies from those feminized seeds. I'm going to do what Ian said buy some seeds and use the males to pollinate the cutting. Wish me luck!

So how much time do I have before they explode and kick out all of the seeds? I heard that you should harvest them before they explode, but how much time from start to finish until I get my seeds?
