Indoor DWC 400w + multi CFL grow. check these seeds!

So, I ordered from single seed center on the 23rd of September, and they were shipped the 24th. Heres what I ordered with the 2 frees that are included (possibly more, sometimes they match)

1x Homegrown Fantaseeds - AC Diesel - Feminized
1x Flying Dutchmen - Edelweiss - Feminized
1x Dinafem - Critical Jack - Feminized
1x Barney's Farm - Blue Cheese - Feminized
1x Free - 2 x Free Feminized Seeds (orders of £20/$30+)
1x Green House - Arjan's Strawberry Haze - Feminized

I'll wait to get the seeds before i get in to my whole setup, but to let you guys know, im doing some DWC hydro systems and I use botanicare nutes. Lights consist of a 400w MH for veg and 400w HPS for bloom. i also have a shit ton of CFL's (daylight spectrum) for added light.


first off, its been a while since i have germed seeds, so any tips would be appreciated.

secondly, which seeds should i start with!?! I don't want to start with all 7+ seeds, i was thinking 2-4, so what are your votes!?

I also got a setup to LST one of these, so which one do you think would be best to do that with?

i think strawberry haze and blue cheese but thats just me. i've never had either but heard the strawberry haze is legit and well worth your time. if ur using a 400w system do 4 of them.

So, its the 29th and i finally got my seeds in sweet huh? it was like christmas or my birthday, but i usually dont get so many presents on my birthday or christmas! haha. Well they only gave me two free seeds, none i've heard of, but they are Super Lemon Haze and Bubba Kush both from Green House. anybody know anything about these two strains? Ill have to look into some more info on them. Im just about to start germing the Edelweiss by Flying Dutchmen and Strawberry Haze by Green House. I think i'll do Critical Jack as well cause the pics i've seen look awesome. but i guess i read that strawberry haze grows high and i should LST her? sound like a plan if anybody is following this.

hey the strawberry haze sounds pretty good, i reckon you should lst i love training my plants, get the most out of that 400watter
the super lemon haze it won the cannabis cup a while back and it has alot of good reviews, im growing this strain right now

i defo wanna try the LST method, but i was also wondering if its good or not to clone the plant when you LST it. any thoughts?

That Critical Jack sounds really good, but I have an eternal soft spot for Jack. That 60 day flowering time (correct?) definitely doesn't hurt its cause either. Those all sound great in their own ways though. Super Lemon Haze and Bubba Kush are both excellent.

Your training method shouldn't have any effect on clones. LST is a huge improvement over untrained growth, especially with how much Sativa you have lined up. SCROG would be optimal but it is definitely more of a hassle. The best germination method I have tried was to fold them into a damp black t-shirt. That's from Tek Mike on Urban Grower.

alright so update so far. as of yesterday i put the 3 seeds, critical jack, strawberry haze, and edelweiss in shot glasses with distilled water. by the time i woke up, critical jack was cracked and was pokin out, so i put it in some soaked grodan. the other two i didnt notice anything untill i got home later in the day, they sunk to the bottom so i put those in soaked grodan as well. they now sittin in the dark untill i see something pop out. I'm thinking to put them under the 400w MH once i notice the veg, anybody know how far away it should be from these seedlings?

the edelweiss has sprouted and i have put it under a dome and about 3 feet under my 400w MH bulb. critical jack has half sprouted, the cotyledons havent appeared yet but the stem is showing, so im gonn wait and let it pop itself out some more, and then as for the strawberry haze, its still a now show but i think it has germed and is making its way up as i noticed when it pushed the opening of the rockwool cube back open. So just keep the rockwool damp for now right?

yeah its about a 60 day flowering time supposedly, so that puts me in somewhere around the end of december i guess right? should be a damn good new year for me haha. but ive never tried LST before, so i hope i can get the hang of it easily, i dont understand scrog, although ive seen it done, i just dont get what it does. but depending on whats growing best is what ill LST i guess

newest update and a question for anybody. as far as updates go, the plants look awesome, still babies, but theyre workin on it. as far as the strawberry haze goes, i didnt see anything pop up yet, but i figured id take a peek and see if the seed actually even cracked as it was in the rockwool, and it turns out its just sorta been turning itself around in the rockwool.

question is, can i help it out??? should i???

Hopefully the turning seed got sorted out, everything back on track now? How's that Jack coming along?

Sorry I've been a little busy lately, but I'm back and here with a little updates. Well the strawberry haze didn't do anything. It seemed like it was too weak to pop itself out of the rockwool and get to light. I got a little pissed cause i really wanted to try that one haha, but instead I just germed and planted homegrown fantaseeds AC Diesel. She took on great and is just a little shorter than the rest. (see pics). I have put them in a half strength nute solution in my DWC bucket and they have rooted well and look great. I was thinking I'd let these grow to the end, but take clones and make mothers from the clones. Its been so long, I forgot how slow the seeds take to grow to a decent plant haha. I will probably end up topping these soon once they get to about 5 nodes, and possibly LST one of them with the extra space I have on the top of the bucket. I might eventually transfer them all into a larger rubbermaid bucket that I have but so far they dont need the space and i don't need to waste extra nutes on them. tips, thoughts, ideas, suggestions below. thanks!

anybody know anything about using molasses? i have some of grandma's robust molasses. should i only use this at flowering? or not even ever. i also have botanicare sweet raw and sweet berry which i will use starting this weekend i believe.

hey i just had a quick question i was wondering if anybody could answer for me. i had been told before that i need a ppm meter. so i got one. i read the ppm's and it seems impossible to actually keep them stable unless i am removing half of the nutrient solution constantly, and filling back up the rest with distilled water. Is this something i should be doing? i just dont get it. my pH goes up constantly and so does PPM because im adding pH down all the time. wtf. i know somebody knows the reasoning behind this...thanks

i have just topped all three plants and everything is looking good except for a slight white/browning of the edges on like 3 leaves. i now have an added 800w of CFLS from all four corners of the dwc, so my totall wattage for these is at 1200 now. they are bushy as fuck, and cutting through the stems was crazy because of how thick they already were. i cut two above the 5th node and one above the second or third node, so we'll see how many colas i get out of that if you have any suggestions as to why the edges are crisping up on a few of the leaves that would be great, otherwise i think im just going to pamper them, they seem to be growing just fine. ill try to post pictures soon so you can see how thick they are haha

Ok, so I know I haven't posted to this in a while, I've just been so busy with other shit, and I'd rather take my free time taking care of my plants then writing about them! But I have some time and I wanted to update for anybody that reads this. So yeah, those three plants I started out with? I flowered em when they were a little over a foot tall...they fucking shot up in a week of flowering and are all HUGE. (sorry about the rotation, just turn your head)
So yeah, the critical jack literally grew about 2 feet in the first 1-2 weeks of flowering. it was overwhelming and I have used everything possible to spread it apart and get some lights to the inside. The others are growing good as well, just not as tall. Edelweiss being the shortest, and then the AC diesel right in the middle with 2 huge as fuck colas.

They seem to be flowering pretty nicely as well. I believe I'm on or around 3 weeks into flowering. I started Nov. 17thish I think. Putting me around day 22 of flowering. Buds look good, but nothing crazy yet.
The First one is Edelweiss and the second critical jack...I think. Can't remember with this inline stuff. Also, right before I started flowering, I made myself a aeroponic cloner. IT WORKS A-FUCING-MAZING!!! It's only 4 at a time, but its pretty damn sick. So I took 4 clones, and ended up needing another bucket within a week or so to put my clones in. I took 3 of them, a Critical Jack that is getting HUGE already (I think I will flower soon, just waiting for the edelweiss it's with to get a bit taller)
I also got a drip bucket that I'm trying out for my first time, so I put one of the Edelweiss in it.
I topped both of the Edelweiss, and left the Critical Jack alone. Theyre all looking great. So I've taken clones twice more since then, just as practice, and heres the first batch that I put into the smaller DWC
They're alright. My AC Diesel is doing the best out of all of them. But check out my cloner, got 4 in there, and they're all doing great. They have all got good roots, I just don't have anywhere to plant them. I might take out the crappier ones from the small DWC I have and replace it with whichever has good roots.

Well I haven't had any problems with this grow. I think I finally got the hang of everything. The plants that are flowering drink water like crazy. The root mass is huge, and I could probably add about a gallon a day! God won't they be ready already so I can stop using so much water!

Hmmm well, does anybody know anything about these strains? Any tips when I should start to lay off the nutes and just go water only? I know I'm some weeks away, but just give me an idea so I'm ready. I'll be able to write about this a lot more now, so if anybody feels like talking, just write on here! And thanks for any help previous, or in advance that you have given me! This is wayyy fun

btw, the total lighting for the plants in flower now is only the 400w HPS and then 2 cfl's, about 100w equiv. each. I had to take all my other lights for the 4 other buckets i have set up now. This is an expensive hobby!

How do you guys think Edelweiss might do if i LST it around the 5gal bucket? its already been topped, i think it could be cool to let two go straight up, then two go around? yes? no? idasss?
