My lava cake bansai mom, My lemon OG bansai mom: have been requested by the person I got the cuts from originally, he didn’t take back ups. So they will be spending a few weeks with him starting Tomorrow and brought back to me most likely in due time.

he always has some stuff going on so chances are I will come back with a cut or some beans gifted, he is a fellow med card holder as well.

I will snap some photos of his set up as well as he is a bit more wild with it indoor wise then I am. The Maui boys always put out the crip!

Both moms got topped a bit recently and cleaned up. The lemon had the roots cut back a week or 2 ago. I still NEED to cut the lava cakes roots back before tomorrow’s adventure. I will post pictures of the roots being cut back on it.

Some updates on day 38:
Dropped the moms at my friends.

Here is One of the bigger lemon OG, at day 38, just water and molasses from here on out.

They are getting stanky for sure now and starting to lean a bit.

Last day of week 6, day 41 I believe.

they are needing just about a gallon of water little less Each now About every 3-4 days.

I am probably about 3 weeks out or so.... debating what next, I will get some lemon and lava cake cuts back. So that leaves me Some to play with. I think I will pop all of my bubblelicious seeds and a few others.

I have some dragonfruit x with either spk or sour d I got from a friend i have been meaning to pop more of to find a female.

Bout 5 gal of water with 30ml of molasses for the girls this morning. As Michael Scott would say keep it simple stupid.

Got some wind and some rain coming and going in the valley today. They are handling well, got a bunch of garden stakes in each of them to help support them. Probably could use some more of them and longer stakes if that but I don’t have the time today.

Got some mild leaf miner damage goin on. Little suckers are not to bad, just gonna leave em be the next week or 2 before I harvest. Not sure if you can see the damage at all, will post a photo at some point.
got some rain water catchment going this week as well!

Just been using about 30ml of molasses with de chlorinated water about 5 gals roughly between the 7 plants. I plan on continuing that same molasses for another 10 days. Soil won’t break it down after I put anything else in it after

starting to show some fade on some lower fan leafs now a bit more then before general
Upkeep.

I am thinking about ordering a myherbsnow bud dehydrator /dryer as it is so humid here. I know some local home growers that use them with decent success. Take about 4 days to dry and then you can put in jars.

On the fence on just ordering one and doing a plant or two at a time every 4 days and filling the thing up to try it out. Curious if anyone has had any experience with these before ?
Hawai’i has no AC and very bad insulation in most houses so seems like it could do the trick and work with the plant counts here for card holders.

I should hopefully start to see the buds fill out the next 2-3 weeks. Fingers crossed for clear sunny sky’s the next 15 days.

been curious about the bansai moms my friend has.

Up potted into milk crate pots both
in his veg tent under I believe 550 hlgs and then some.
Lava ain’t so happy, I topped it before he got it thinking I was hanging onto it for a bit so there is that,
and he runs a much more intense no till organic soil then I do,
he also runs an AC on blast 24/7 so there is that as well.

Late week 7 day 48 I believe.
Weather is decent til Wednesday, may have to enclose it a bit more for the last week or 2 to keep em as dry as possible. Was hoping to not have to do that riga-ma-role but oh well.

Alright today is the first day of week 8 for the girls.

I will either chop end of this week. Or end of week 9.

Weather is a factor, sunny today and tomorrow, gusty for 3 days after that, and light tropical rain for 5 days after that. Winter in the tropics. Sunny one day and gusty rain the next day ...

so tonight or tomorrow I’m gonna have to re bust out the third tarp to keep the wind and rain at bay or yank em back inside into the 4x4 under the HLGs

Watered this morning just water, no molasses anymore.
put the third tarp up as the wind and rain are coming tonight.

Mornin update on the lava cakes - early week 8. Starting to fill out a wee bit. Gusty as all heck lately, rain comes in a few days. Got them hunkered down in the cover. Sticking to just water only at about 6.3-6.6 ph give or take. Fan leaves starting to fade a bit more. Taking the yellow and crusty ones off as needed every day or two.

At this point this thread is mostly a log for my own references.

I am going to water probably 2-3 more times and take them down end of week 9 and be done with em.

I am either gonna pop some new beans or get cuts or a bit of both. Might do some regular seeds as well. Should sort that out in the next two weeks!

I got an update on the lava cake mom I sent to the friends coming back with some new growth slowly but surely

Week 8 day 54 I believe,
I watered today, straight dechlorinated water at 6.5 ph
last I watered was Tuesday.

Starting to use a little bit less water then compared to the rest of flower. Still seeing a steady fade on my fan leaves.

Update on the plants that went to the homies
Lemon and lava have been up potted and aloe/cal mag / silica foliar sprayed. Under 500w led. He took some cuts he has in a dome rooting.

Day 56, last day of week 8.

I think I’m gonna let em go another 4-7 days give or take. I think I will wind up watering 1 last time tomorrow or the next day.

It is super strong winds with an hour or so of rain a few times throughout the day. They are tucked in the shelter so they are relatively dry ish and handling ok as the wind gusts are somewhat broken. Been a few days of this weather now... doesn’t seem to end for another 6 days.
