induce flowering indoors then move plants outdoors, possible?

I am interested in growing outdoors and have some Grand Daddy Purple seeds germinating (I've heard their clone only, I've never heard of this happening and I personally don't buy it) but either way if it's really Grand Daddy Purp or not, it's purple as shit and high quality. I dont really want to wait till mid-october to harvest as it will be getting cold by then. Is it possible to grow them a few weeks under like 18/6 or 20/4 or 24/0 then either A, put them outside and they flower (15 hour day natural sunlight when they would move outdoors) or B induce flowering under something like 12/12 and then move them outside after a week or two.

I could grow full term indoors, but I would rather not grow all my plants indoors. Growing a good crop outdoors can give me more yield and is easier. Would growing in an abandoned area (outside) be low risk? a few plants here and there, not a field. I would most likely only visit them at night to check on them and at harvest

I think if I moved them from 20/4 or even 22/2 to 14.7/9.3 it should flower, right?
(and yes i did have fun making those words colorful)

You could start flowering indoors, but moving them out into the summer sun will revert them to vegetative mode until the days actually get shorter in the fall.

Some people grow in greenhouses and cover them 12 hours of every freaking day to induce flowering during summertime.. You could look into that.

good luck growing!

yep ... you could start flowering indoors but if they get dont 12 hours dark time they revert back to veg. on ya .... If your sure its awsome , I'd keep in indoors anywho ... nature can be very unkind at times - better chance of survival inside ........... good luck - hope it does well for ya

:peace:

It needs to be 12 hours? I would think a change from something like 20/4 or maybe 24/0 to 14.5/9.5 might induce flowering, but hey, I'm new and you're the ones with experience to I gotta take your word for it. I will defiantly be growing some indoors, but want to grow some outdoors to get some extra. If they died or flowered later, it wouldn't be the end of the world. They would be clones and I would grow enough indoors to meet my need had the outdoor failed.

I havnt acually tested it my self but Ive been lead to believe that it takes at least 12 hours of darkness to make her induce the hormones that start the flowering process.
