Inexpensive Nutes at the local Hardware store??

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what I can pick up at the local hardware store for Nutes for my "girls" well I hope anyhow. I don't have a local grow store and prefer not to buy online, I am hoping that I can pick something up local or at the wal-mart. Any suggestions??

Ordering online is a very minimal risk, as long as it dosent cross intnl borders. But at walmart, a few good organic ferts are Alaskan fish emulsion for N but it does stink. Maxiflower liquid seaweed is a great foliar feed and soil feed. Stay away from time release formulas. mabe an organic bulb/flowering food. Stay away from miracle grow.

i found alaska fish fertilizer at my local hardware store. it says "deodorized" but it does smell. i havent used it yet, but it was only 9.99

hmm, the more and more i browse the forums the more things i see about not using miracle grow in any way shape or form! Is the all purpose plant food really that bad, even when used in 1/4 to 1/2 strength?

i use an orchid "schults" for veg....along with vitamins and hormones "superthrive"
for flowering i use "elleanors vf11" and "superthrive" also molasses and pure brown sugar mixed with misc. guano tea i make.. i call it "shi~tea sweet" natural sugars swell your nuggets, and the poop makes the leaves very dark green and healthy.
all cheap. i swear by elleanors vf11, non toxic, wont burn no matter how much is used.
b vitamins for your roots, good roots=good plants. $2 for b vitamins .

personaly i wont use miracle grow, bad in my mind. people do use it with good results though.

I actually have superthrive! thanks for reminding me! I will keep an eye out for some different ferts. Either that or I will be very cautious on the strength. I figure ill start out at 1/4 strength and see where that goes...

MG makes many things, some work well with MJ, some don't.
MG Organic Bone Meal(6-9-0) is pretty good, has quite the shot of nitrogen in slow release form. Great mixed into the soil for slow release nute.

Well what I have is Miracle Grow All-Purpose Plant Food 24-8-16 for veg. Do you think a 1/4 solution would be too strong for a plant in a 5 Gal Bucket soil/perlite mix?

1/4 strength sounds ok - partly depends on the soil - if the soil has nutes in it, be cautious

ahh i see. I actually bought a bunch of Miracle Grow potting soil which I am actually returning to the store because of all the problems i heard it can cause it can cause. but thanks for the advice.

good choice, though many do get MG potting to work
seen a lot of fried plants when nutes are added to MG Potting Soil

If you need any soil, Home depot has supersoil which i have had excellent results with

ok superthrive is not a fertilizer it is vitamins and hormones, mix a small amount with your fert solution. when using soil, watch for yellowing leaves starting from the bottom of the plant.....if this happens just repot with fresh soil, either a ph problem or soil depletion. dont try to fix it with more nutes, you'll do more damage.

yes, schultz 10-15-10+superthrive+fish emulsion, the ghetto elixir

4 drop superthrive
4 DROPPERS 10-15-10
1 tbs f. emulsion
per gallon everytime you water. Then cut the F. E. out during flowering. Sounds crazy but works surprisingly well for most people that have used it.
