i buy my supplies in Lowes, for veg i used bone and blood meal mixed into soil and Miracle-gro plantfood 24-8-16 (full strenght).
Ive never used blood or bone meal in soil. does it consistently provide nutrients or do you have to add it more than once?

i haven't used blood meal, but i have real good results with MG organic bone meal
has a 6-9-0 nute ratio, the nitrogen is slow release - it can be mixed into the soil in the beginning or added as a top dressing - it is quite slow release and real safe
i've also made a bone meal tea which is not used by too many growers, but it worked great
