information needed on trics???

ive read loads on here on when to harvest etc,,,but heres my problem,,,all the info ive read on when to harvest tells you to chop when you're half amber half milky etc,,,is that on the small leaves surrounding the bud or on the actual buds??? because on my plant the trics on surrounding leaves are all amber nearly but on the bud itself nearly all milky with the odd amber one,,,do i wait till the trics on the buds go half amber or does it sound done now??? it seems to be taking forever,,, it sure looks done,,,the buds are swelled the brown hairs have receded,,,the leaves are hooking up and turning crispy,,,this probalbly sounds like a stupid question to you experienced growers but im sure you were all the same as me in the begining,,,

I take samples from several points around the plant and sort of average them. I harvest at 25+% amber. Sounds like yours is ready.

the trics on the leaves are usually well ahead of the bud trics
generally don't judge on leave trics, judge on the part you will be smoking, the bud
now when you cut is tougher, it may be tough to guess how a particular strain will turn out
i cut my nl#5 with quite a few clear trics left, like your case, it was taking a long time to ripen
after a 3 weeks jar cure, i check out the trics again out of curiosity
many of the clear trics had turned yellow, very strong smoke

Sounds like a good time to harvest leaves if you want to make hash.
