New Speaker from RCMP Added to Expert Panel in B.C. Workshops

Experchem Laboratories is pleased to announce the addition of another speaker from the RCMP to it’s panel of MMPR Industry experts for the 2-day MMPR workshop in Vancouver.
Cpl. Shane Homquist is a Drug Supervisor/Investigator, Federal Serious Organized Crime Section, Royal Canadian Mounted Police / Government of Canada. He has 9 years of experience as a Police Officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and has worked in uniform and covert capacities with the majority of his time in drug and major crime sections. He holds of rank of Corporal and is a Supervisor on the RCMP Federal Serious Organized Crime Section’s Coordinated Marihuana Enforcement Team (FSOC CMET). The RCMP and the Department of Justice have selected Cpl. Holmquist to provide expert witness evidence relating to the criminal abuses of the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations (MMAR) program and to discuss his observations at MMPR LP facilities. The Federal Court trial (Allard et.al v. Her Majesty the Queen in the Right of Canada, (2014) FC280) that starts on February 23, 2015 will have national implications on medical marihuana in Canada.
Cpl Shane Holmquist has participated in Licensed Producer (LP) inspections and has toured all the LP facilities in BC.
Cpl. Shane Holmquist will be a part of the expert panel on Day 1, and will present on Day 2 (Security):
- RCMP involvement in assisting Health Canada with security clearance;
- RCMP MMPR Provincial Coordinator reviewing process;
- Importance of standard operating procedures related to security and related experiences;
- Working with the RCMP to ensure legitimate businesses, preventing diversion, and preventing organized crime involvement;
- What does the initial Health Canada inspection look like? Common scene approaches to be prepared so you are not wasting their time or yours.
