Inline fan inside or outside of tent?

Yeah fair enough, I was applying my logic with my environment too broadly.

I just figure if you have a major humidity issue like that, you need a damn good solution and a dehumidifier is sort of a guaranteed solution- whether it puts off to much heat or not can be an issue of its own but id rather my plants be a little warm than soaking wet.

True , but we don't know he has a humidity issue, just it climbs rapidly because he's recirculating his air.
Which is 100% going to happen when recirculating the same air in a small space.

Neither of us know his true natural climate so its guess work as to if he would need a dehu if he were venting out.
But certainly recirculating the air isn't the way forward, even if he uses a dehu hes going to have to add co2 because its going to diminish without fresh air coming in.

I did the same thing when I moved into my new house two winters ago, trying to avoid venting my heat because it was cold and I had 100% rh in a few days. Venting into the room had it back down to 55% (big room though, not a closet) and venting up the chimney had it to 45%

When my 5x5 is running full tilt, my whole house would be at 80%+ during spring and fall.

I would probably do filter inside the tent, fan out. Connect them together and put them in a vent hole, pull the vent hole string tight. You want the fan PULLING air through the filter and out the tent.

So when I am not using the filter during veg, do you still recommend putting the fan outside and pulling the air out through the duct?

I run my filter all the time. If you are hell bent on not running the filter during veg, it doesnt matter how you orient the fan as long as its pulling air out of the tent.


Honestly this guy's setup is fine. Its not ideal to push air through a filter but it works.

How long should a filter last? I was just trying to preserve filter life.

If your at 80% humidity the filter wont work properly anyway.
But a good one will last 18 months, longer if the airflow is less or the filter is oversized.

Oh ok cool. I’ll just run it all the time then. That way I don’t have to fuss with anything inside the tent when they’re flowering.
 
I've gotten years out of mine and I've always pushed through this particular one. I started doing it this way bc I tore up some tendons in my shoulder and so I couldn't manage to hang it at the time. Now I actually prefer it this way - I like the space inside my tent and I'll gladly sacrifice some lifespan for it.

I’m thinking I want to go with the filter inside and the fan outside in just worried about noise. I’m out in the country so not a lot of people around but still. As far under the radar as possible is best!

Absolutely it's just a matter or time if your having condensation inside the tent!!!!
