where can you find a 500cfm fan for 90 bucks? what kind is it?
www.tjernlund.com/Retail/fans.htm It's actually 530 cfm. The model # M-6. The fan moves a ton of air. I have used the valuline and cap fans in the past. This fan is much better in my opinion. You can Email them with a competitors web sight and fan , like the valuline, and they will match the price. I got mine for $90 shipped. I use it to exhaust air from two small rooms, and I have a 465 cfm pulling threw two reflectors.

i herd the 250 model can cool two 1000 watt hps's that are lined up in a row, what im going to do to my hood is cut a 8'' hole in the top of it directly above the bulb install a carbon scruber then the ducting so that it goes from the hood directly through the ceiling and out a vent, outside. theres another forum that has a thread on the snp models but i can not find it anymore. .. tons of great reviews.. damnit lol all i need it the fan and its tha hardest to decide on LOL

Stop contradicting yourself. This thread is long and has all the information you need. You will be spending $80+ on a good fan. The ebay link is for a MARINE AIR BOAT BLOWER. This is a fan but not for our purposes.

It's simple.
Booster fans are not made to start pulling air. they are made to boost already moving air threw a duct. booster fans are like the S&P ones. They are completely circular.

Other fans, Fans that are MADE to pull through carbon and start the suction of air movement in a duct are what you need. These are the Vortex (Centrifugal fans). These are what you want and need.

I only have a 400w and 6 plants. I have 6 Inch 435 CFM Centrifugal Inline Fan. This is more then enough for my setup... You need to find centrifugal fan with high CFM.

there are also other things to consider, as ducting, length, turns ect all effect how much air is pulled.

Vortex fans are probably the most commonly used ones.

I just got a 6" Valueline inline fan, like 450 cfm or something. Gonna use to pull air through a 600w Glass enclosed hood, air is being pulled from another room inside the house.

Although I havn't tested it's cooling abilities yet since I'm waiting on the delivery of my light from HTG, this thing is pretty powerfull, but also pretty loud. Prolly gonna put it in the attic to minimize noise, it was only 100$ too at my local hydro shop.

As for exhausting the flowering room itself I have a 8" Duct booster fan with some 8" to 6" reducers (Dunno cfm, prolly like 250), much less powerfull, but it only has to exhaust a 2'x3.5' space about 6' tall. Should work perfectly for my small space. Passive 4" intake on the bottom of the room.

I bought a S&P fan and it looks like I will be sending it back. I have a 600w in a hood. Just wanted to run from outside to fan then hood and outside again. The 4 inch fan doesn't even push through one foot of hose! Called Havac and they said they have never had a complaint. They had me call the company and after 30 minutes of discussions they had nothing to help. They told me the senior tech will be there monday. I'll see what he has to say but I'm stuck right now with a fan mounted on the wall serving no purpose. The fan when I wired it up seemed to blow hard. The problem was with the hose on it losses all force. I guess I'll be looking to get a cent. fan.

I have a 10x8x8 room with (3) 1000 watt vent hoods linked up with a carbon scrubber and a 180 degree turn at base of "L" pattern and during winter season if lights at night I can get by barely with a 6 inch 463 cfm !!! its your inline as well that counts. I use a 750 * inch reduced to 6 but sped down drastically in the low 600'S.

The S&P 800 will cool two 600w HPS if you got an air conditioner, or if the temperature outside is 22 centigrade.

Gotten sic of watching the weed burn, so as leaving it at 26 degrees (cool, yahane) (too cool) may be but they stretching their late alms up in the hair (anthropomorphically speaking). I sit in me underpants staring at them, is so quiet in there. A reverent silence, awe on it's buns. Might just do it this time.

Bilge blowers are great for clearing fuel fumes from an engine bay - prevents your boat from going BOOM on startup.
A 30' boat with a pair of 350's or a 8.2 Merc usually a pair of 3" inline bilge fans - they move a good amount of air for their size BUT:
Bilge fans are meant for intermittent use - just long enough to clear the fumes from the engine bay - one or two minutes at most.

I would be concerned about constant use - but I really like the idea!

I kinda have to disagree with you, although I respect your opinion. Your advice is based on what works for you.

Here is a direct link to the manufacturers website regarding the fans I suggested. http://www.detmarcorp.com/blowers.htm

These are definitely not booster fans. There are only 2 wires. Negative and positive. There is no speed control on these fans, that is why they are not booster fans.

Now I can not comment on using these fans to run through two 1000 HID bulbs, but I know that they will definitely be more than enough to coll one of these bulbs.

As far as the carbon scrubber, its depends on the design. They all are different and some do not require a high CFM to push through them

I do agree though that the higher CFM fans can do a whole lot more.

Anyway I am glad you have a system that works great for you

I understand this is a very old post but still this is some poor advice from someone who clearly has no clue what they are talking about.

I'm aware of obvious heat implications but to get off on the right foot cool air is no issue. However I would like a seasoned review this is what I'm working with

Dimmable ballast
1000w hid mh/hps
4x4 tent
Ac infinity t8
6 in xxl hood
8 to 6 reducer
