What the fuck is going on in the US...DEA agents can block in a vehicle in an unmarked black SUV jump out in civilian clothing with guns in hand and just start firing off rounds killing innocent people!?!?!? WHAT THE FUCK

Good job guys...I feel so fucking safe now....

ATLANTA (Sept. 4) -- Plainclothes officers shot and killed a small-town pastor when the 28-year-old father-to-be resisted efforts to question him about a passenger in his car who was the target of a drug sting, authorities said.
Jonathan Paul Ayers of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Lavonia wasn't targeted in the probe that ended in gunfire at a gas station Tuesday, Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead said. But drug task-force agents opened fire on him after he tried to avoid them, putting his car in reverse and striking one of the officers in plain clothing.

Matt Carpenter, AP
Pastor Jonathan Paul Ayers, seen with his wife Abby in an undated family photo, was due to become a father.

Bankhead said agents approached Ayers after he dropped a woman off at a store in downtown Toccoa, which is about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The passenger was the person being investigated by the task force.

A grainy surveillance video from a nearby store shows two drug task-force agents emerge from a black SUV before Ayers' small car backs up. The two men fire into the passenger side of Ayers' car, and then it takes off with the agents running behind it, the video posted on WNEG-TV in Toccoa shows. The station owner would not release the video to The Associated Press.
Bankhead said Ayers died Wednesday, about an hour after he had surgery. He said the agent who was hit by Ayers' car was treated for minor injuries.
Bankhead would not disclose the identity of the woman who was in Ayers' car, but said she's been charged with cocaine possession and distribution.
On Thursday, Ayers' brother-in-law Matt Carpenter said the pastor had nothing to do with drugs.

Any question of his character, particularly involving something like drugs, is just ridiculous," he said.
Carpenter said Ayers and his wife had wanted to live in a town closer to their family, but they settled near the Lavonia church where Ayers felt called to be a pastor.
"They were exactly where they were supposed to be," Carpenter said, adding that they had recently led the small congregation's first mission trip, to Africa.
Carpenter said Ayers' wife, who is 16 weeks pregnant, is grappling with the idea of being a single mom.
"That's why it's hurting us all so badly," he said.
Ayers' wife declined to speak to The Associated Press.

I would fight back or run assuming im being mugged, robbed, or kidnapped....what the fuck do they expect.

Pot Raid Targets Local Church
KTLA News
5:37 AM PDT, August 21, 2009

LOS ANGELES -- Authorities raided a church in the Elysian Valley area of Los Angeles Thursday after reports of pot sales at the venue.

Craig X Rubin -- pastor of The Family Church and owner of the Beverly Hills Green Cross  (hey they spelled my name right!)-- was on hand as Los Angeles police served a search warrant at Royal Temple of Zion, located at 2415 Eads Street.

Rubin told KTLA that police held patients and employees at the church for over an hour while they waited for the search warrant to be issued.

"I think this is ridiculous. We provide medical marijuana and are trying to spread the word at the same time," he said.

Three people were arrested during the raid, which was apparently prompted by complaints by neighbors about marijuana sales in the residential area known to locals as Frogtown.

The suspects were cited for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute it, police said. It's not clear if the church was legally permitted to sell medical marijuana as a state-and city-approved dispensary.

Rubin ran for mayor on a platform of protecting state-legalized dispensaries from federal raids. He finished seventh in the 10-candidate field in March's election.

"As Mayor of Los Angeles I will defend the will of the people of the State of California and will protect medical marijuana clubs from DEA intervention," Rubin states on his campaign site. "It is my opinion that prohibition is causing more problems than it is helping."

Officers confiscated less than two pounds of marijuana during the raid.

Those who were arrested did have a lawyer, who advised them not to say anything.

WTF is Obama doing about this?

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — President Obama promised medical marijuana patients that their cannabis collectives would be protected as long as they followed state law. That should have included another caveat too because it seems raids on cannabis dispensaries have not stopped. Beverly Hills Green Cross’ Craig X Rubin, is the creator of the on-line marijuana school, Craig X Academy, a school teaching people around the globe how to profit from California’s recent “Green Rush,” the move of thousands of people participating in the new medical marijuana economy of the Golden State. Rubin says, “Obama’s wishes are not being obeyed. The government is targeting cannabis collective owners who are speaking out against the government.”

Not since the Gold Rush have people moved from all over the world to California to make money. Rubin, a pastor, actor and father of seven, created the school to teach people legal ways to make money from the cannabis industry. In his course he interviews famous attorneys, such as Bruce Margolin, and industry leaders who are making hundreds of thousands of dollars on a monthly basis – legally – with ancillary business to the medical marijuana industry. The Web site Profitfrompot.com is a lead-in page to his Academy, a marketing tool, but this tool has led to some problems for Mr. Rubin with the Los Angeles City government. The City is using his legal business, a serious business school for people wishing to profit in a sagging economy, as evidence or reasoning behind taking away his church’s operating permit.

Link

From the link above it can be seen that the city is using Mr. Rubin’s completely legal on-line education business as justification for shutting down his also completely legal church that supplies medical marijuana to needy patients. The articles and Web site which would be considered hearsay in a court of law were added to the city’s record without a citation as to where they came from and they are not put into any sort of context. It is not clear what Rubin’s legal business school has to do with his church, the Beverly Hills Green Cross, providing medical cannabis. Rubin received a judge’s permission to open, prior to his opening the church.
On the City’s Web site you can see Rubin’s promises from the Profit from Pot Web site, “This secret includes thousands of legal ways to make money in the burgeoning cannabis industry.” The City’s Web site states, “according to the DEA, the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times, marijuana dispensaries are one of the fastest growing segments of Southern California’s economy; all this economic stimulation at time when most are screaming about a recession. Why not learn the secret today from an expert who knows? Craig X Rubin runs the Beverly Hills Green Cross, popular medical marijuana collective in Southern California, and in Showtime’s Weeds played the owner of the medical marijuana club. After graduating from UCLA Rubin owned a chain of hemp stores, so he is intimately familiar and qualified to speak to making money in the cannabis industry. Currently, he is a guest lecturer at Oaksterdam University and frequent speaker at hemp rallies.”
Richard Castaldo, who was paralyzed in the shooting at Columbine High School ten years ago, is a member of Rubin’s church, The Beverly Hills Green Cross (2370 Robertson Blvd.), and volunteers at the medical marijuana clinic. Castaldo testified before the land use committee that attempting to shut down Rubin’s church over a land use regulation would be a grave hardship on him, “Prior to all these cannabis shops opening I was paying $85 for an eighth ounce of medicine; now I pay $45.”
The city claims not to have done an economic evaluation regarding the closing of Rubin’s place. Rubin currently can be seen preaching every Sunday at the Family Church in Pasadena. He runs his collective as a church, too, since his first house of worship was forced to close after the DEA allegedly threatened the owner of property where it was located with seizure of the property. Rubin says, “The economic impact would be horrible. My wife and I were forced into a short sale of our home when our first temple was closed. Our cars were repossessed. The house we are renting now was just foreclosed on and this is our family’s main source of support as we start the school. Plus, I really reach people with the Word here.”
Pastor Rubin recently ran for mayor of Los Angeles because he thought it was a good job and he was qualified. Two of his main goals as mayor were recently accomplished. For the LAPD Rubin promised to end the Federal Consent Decree and to get rid of Chief of Police Bratton. Although he didn’t win the election he did win some political enemies as he railed against the mayor for his adulterous affairs. Rubin doesn’t want to be a thorn in the city’s side – in fact, he just wants to be able to preach and provide true healing to people – but he is not going to be silent when he feels the city and or officials are wrong.
Rubin was recently seen on ABC television speaking out for Patrick Duff, leader of the “Royal Temple of Zion,” another religious organization not affiliated with Rubin but providing a similar service to the public. “Outside the church where Patrick’s members were arrested, LAPD officers explained that churches were for preaching not healing.” Rubin quipped, “I bet Pat Robertson, Benny Hin and Billy Gram would disagree.”
Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8beLMboDbE .
According to KFSN in Fresno, a California judge did not issue an “emergency restraining order” as requested by City Attorneys against a medical marijuana dispensary. It is also the first to be sued by city attorneys over land use regulations. The judge said, “The dispensary did not appear to pose an immediate threat to public safety.”
William Logan, representing the dispensary’s owner, said “The dispensary is not violation of any law. He is completely in compliance with state law and is not doing anything wrong.”
Patrick Duff, founder of Royal Temple of Zion, stated, “The church is the proper place for healing and we are in compliance with all state and federal laws.” Duff says, “Under RLUIPA (Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act) the government must first show that there is a compelling interesting before shutting down a church.” Marijuana laws are not generally applied in California the State since the State has made the exception for medical use. “Will they make an exception for a church that provides medical marijuana in accordance with state law? We’ll have to wait and see if a church should be a place for healing, or not in the United States of America.”

Not to mention some of us citizens have concealed carry permits and legally carry our own firearms. Its not a stretch that an armed citizen could see something like that, think they are seeing a car jacking or robbery and open fire on the "UN-IDENTIFIED" agents.

This is becoming more and more the way the police act all the time. They are as dangerous to citizens as a bunch of gangbangers. Truely.

I think they are fast becoming more dangerous than gangbangers. How often do the consequences police officers face after something like this come close to anything resembling justice? They'll just say whatever the hell they want and get away with. Somebody will probably get a payed suspension, I mean vacation, while the investigation goes on. Its disgusting.

Ummm... looks like we all forgot two things here...

"putting his car in reverse and striking one of the officers in plain clothing."

Yeah, I'd have shot him too if he tried to run me over... if the officers identified themselves as police and he took the actions said there, another contestant for the Darwin award.

"The passenger was the person being investigated by the task force."

As the saying goes... Chi va dormir con i cani, si leua con i pulici

The fact that he's a pastor has nothing to do with this, it's just to tug on our little bleeding liberal hearts... of which I have not.

Fact in this story: Try to run over cops, get shot... seems like common sense to me!

Edited to add: And without seeing the video, none of us can say the police were unidentified or not, as most of the times they're pumping adrenaline and yelling POLICE POLICE... it also says he resisted questioning... so, did they talk to him, and THEN he put his car in reverse? If so, the cops had every right to end his life... try running over me and I'll do it too, thank God for open carry!

Dude wasn't part of any investigation? Well obviously he was, the freaking DEA surrounded him, and his passenger was wanted! Ever heard of an accessory charge? You drive someone around who then commits a crime, and you have knowledge of the crime but don't tell the police, you're guilty of the same crime the other person committed.

You will never back the police on anything Warlord, your are simply instigating more hate, no matter what is staring you in the face. Because of your extreme bias, anything someone says to you about the police being warranted in their action goes right through your empty skull.

And yes, of course adrenaline is going... ever been in combat? I doubt it... police every day have to deal with the specific fact that there are people out there who want to kill them JUST because of their job and who they are, so why wouldn't adrenaline be pumping? This pastor was obviously hiding something, and in his stupidity, he got killed... tough shit, condolences to his family... the officers were justified though, there is no if, ands, or buts about it.
