I might add that if you are only growing a handful of plants per run, then, it can pay to save your trim for extract. Whether you press or wash. I get rid of the fan leaves and I've been washing the rest. I'm not real big on smoking wax or shatter, but, decarb the stuff and make edibles if you like. After almost running out recently, I waste nothing anymore.

Goddamn I have put a lot of work into this one.. I sure hope it turns out to be worth it in the end. Another big prune today, this is the most pruning and training I have ever done on this area. Whew!
Just...Damn. You've been busy. That's obvious from all the stumps left from the chopping. You're definitely getting everything shaped the way you want. Some of those branches you chopped were as big as the main stalk on some of the last small plants I had. You will be rewarded In the end. Doesn't look like you'll have any small buds at all. If you're doing what you love, it's not bad work. I would love a frigging room full.

Hey man, did you ever check out The Dude Grows Show? I'm watching one right now where Scotty( the guy that invented Recharge)interviews Dr Bugbee. It's pretty interesting. Very interesting. You know how all the light makers are promoting Ultraviolet light? Bugbee says that on every experiment they've run that no discernable difference has shown. Hell, even my cheap light has UV. He says that a light that's 80% red and 20% white legs would be the most efficient. White looks brighter to us but red is actually more active. It's a good show. They have alot of industry leading people on here.

It’s a worry chopping those big stems for sure, hopefully it’s worth it. How are you going with your photoperiod foray? Are you sold yet?
I was trying to figure out what advantage growing autos could have yesterday.. I’m curious as to what their DLI during flower is, if you can hit them with strong light for longer hours during flower then you would think you would get more flower volume in the same time frame as a photperiod, but if they are hitting their maximum daily light integral at around 12hrs of high power light then all those extra photons are just going to waste and your burning power and money.

Maybe I need a little experiment room built.

I'm still into running photos and finding a great pheno to Clone. Advantages for growing autos for me is that they are more friendly to being around for me. The light can be off and my wife can go in the bathroom/growspace , and she turns on the overhead lights and leaves them on by mistake. With photos I worry about hermies from that stuff. As far as DLI, since autos start flowering after 2-4 weeks , they kinda are still vegging at the same time they're budding. These last ILGM plants stretched for 1.5 months after starting flowering. But they do seem to be able to take more light. I dunno. The other thing that grabbed me about them is that if you find the right breeder, you can go from seed to harvest reliably in 60-75 days. The Mephisto plants I started 7 weeks ago, one is about a week to go and the other maybe 2-3. I can grow a bunch of different strains in a year in a shower stall. If I had a separate grow spot and didn't have to live with the plants then I'd mostly do Photos for the overall yield and the ability to Clone a winner. I would probably still throw a few autos in the veg room from time to time. Honestly, I really like Photos and Autos. I plan on running both. My lowlife stepson somehow made bond. He's not here but probably not paying Child Support either. I told the wife, fuck it. I'll finish this run. I just put 4 new seeds of 65 day strains in paper towels and I'll fkn pay the $60 Child Support for 2 months. Then after harvest, I break it all down and wait. It's worth paying to not have the partial Coronary I got last time the cops surrounded my place. But, there's what and why my reasons for growing Autoflowers are what they are. It's more a necessity than an outright preference. Hopefully things ease up. I'd love to have 2 pound+ plants. But, I do make do pretty well with a $128 light in a shower stall. Lost the closet. The kid in the Navy decided to come home instead of re-up and that is his room( for now). It is fun experimenting. You don't really run short that I've seen so the quick timeline probably isn't a factor. But, if you ever need some fast, these are hard to beat.

I like autos for the variety. When I smoke one strain for too long it stops working for me. I only have room to grow two plants at a time but I get large enough harvests that I usually have at least 2 other strains cured and jarred so that I can mix it up anytime and still have some extra for friends and family.

Lately though my pantry has become pretty bare. Mostly from my experimenting with new techniques and my generosity. I'm hoping that these Mephisto genetics will help me get ahead of the game again after several more grows.

I agree about the variety part totally. I only have room for 4-6 plants at a time. I also like to have several strains simultaneously. During the day, more Sativa leaning stuff keeps me high without nodding me out. At night I like having strains that I know will rock me to sleep. I think you will like the Mephisto cultivars. I can reliably harvest most of their stuff in under 80 days, and it really be finished right. Nobody else's stuff that I've run has had that reliability. I'm cutting down those GGautos tomorrow. They finally finished after 115 days or so. I have a CDLC that's 2 months tomorrow and it's basically done. Like 5% amber trichs and I like 15-20%. Point being I can get 2 harvests in the same time running their gear. And, it's always damn good weed too. So fast and good. I hope to have a cloning setup soon and find some nice Bodhi mothers to cut clones off from the photo seeds I have. I dig any good weed photo or auto.

I'm watching a YT video with this guy that's been growing 1+ pound Autoflowers every grow. His record is 26.5 zips from a Night Owl seed. He's got like 22 from a Mephisto Ripley's OG! I feel good getting 4 lol. Garden Talk with Mr Grow It. This guy had 8 plants and got 110 zips in 1 run.
If you cared to grow them, I see you getting big ass yields from them too. Well, nobody can question your choice. I wish ANY of my plants looked like your stuff. Lol, good thing I just smoke.

Damned impressive for a 90 day plant. The guy has his system down perfect. He uses coco and salt nutes. So, basically hydro. He uses autopots and has some kind of device that pumps air to the roots cause he runs straight coco, no perlite. It's more attention than I feel like giving, but, I see what can be done. I really want to try coco. I've got a whole bunch of nutes that suck in soil but are supposed to be great in hydro. Maybe a side by side run is in order. I'll learn something anyway. I'm sure if I have hydroponic related questions ,I can get advice from you and Annie.

Yeah everybody loves coco.. I’ve never tried it properly. Clay balls for now but if I could do it over I would probably go back and build a better rdwc system. I would much prefer to have no medium at all if I could manage it, aero is too finicky for my taste.. but rdwc.. aerated, nutrient rich water so they can just hang and feed all day long. Yep.

I'm too forgetful, and have too many things going on for me to run Aeroponics and alot of hydroponic systems. Alot can happen in a day or 2 and I am not ready yet. I'm trying to get some Autopots. That way I could run Coco or Soil and even be able to leave the system to itself 4-5 days when needed. We just talked to our Personal Injury Lawyer and she said that Virginia is telling them that they have some charges against me(?) . There is no mention in the police report of anything and they won't tell the lawyer anything. So, I'm sweating that now. Surely they woulda served me in the hospital if it was much. I had a gun on me, but it was legal,,,,and,,, the police report only lists an empty holster...Someone took my pistol. I'm sure I had weed, but, it's legal in Virginia and lawyer said no worries there. The lawyer said that after a year they can't bring any charges, so, better to leave things be. They can't expedite for anything under a felony and I don't plan on returning. This year has been a beast. But yeah, I kinda like having a medium to grow in to help buffer my fk ups.

Yeah man for sure, I wasn’t suggesting you should.. just that if I were to build another setup here I would probably go dwc. Autopilots sound like a great Idea. There is an Aussie bloke called “hoocho” on YouTube who does all sorts of budget systems for his outdoor hydro and he has his own auto pot design you can bang out on a 3d printer if you have one. He is well worth a watch actually.. very clever fellow and a great channel.
And yeah like you said.. if it were serious it would have come up already or while you were in hospital surely. Relax, roll one, inhale..

Busy day today trying to wrangle the room I had much been ignoring into something useful.. dunno how it’ll go, I’ve been pretty rough and neglectful in there.
The other room homeowner is going great!
Looking great! One thing I've really got to do is run a more sanitary growspace like yours. I get a little too lazy sometimes and need to straighten up. A grow worth running is worth protecting from fungus and pests. I went to the growstore today ready to buy some coco. He was fresh out of Canna coco and only had some bricks of a brand I couldn't vet and the Fox Farm Cultivation Nation 70/30 Coco/perlite stuff. I just bought a fkn bag of FFOF. The damned gnats are gone and I have a working system. I'll work on something else later. I've got seedlings that will be ready to transplant in the next few days.

Pretty sure you can use whatever, probably cheaper from a gardening centre, just buffer it with some cal/mag before you use it.

Haha, I had just cleaned up in there.. it gets messy enough sometimes don’t you worry :blsmoke:

I finally got those ILGM GG autos dried, trimmed and jarred. The tall lanky one indeed finished out at 4.2 zips trimmed. It's what I call OK. Too Sativa leaning. Guess I should be happy I got anything after the gnats. The smaller bushier one indeed leans Indica. It was a breeze to trim and half of it is top nugs. It was 2.9 zips. I washed the trim tonight so I'll be scraping iso wash tomorrow. Hey! Those HP clones I transplanted stalled out so I started pouring veg nutes in their water and they've started recovering. I can't believe they are alive but all 3 are a foot tall and healthy. I'm gonna let these get ALOT bigger than the last ones before flipping. This pheno flowered fast last run and the stuff is great. I can only imagine how good it woulda been if I wouldn't have had trouble. I have the remainder stuck back for just me. It has exactly the kind of buzz I love. My wife will smoke anything. Me,,,,uh,no. I will not smoke some of this commercial shit acquaintances get. After experiencing good home grown, I just can't. I can't believe I still got over 4 zips off that wraggly sorry looking plant. Damn, if it woulda been in a 5g and had no gnats, 1/2 lb woulda been totally possible. Too bad I don't really care for the buzz. Crazy how those phenos are so different. Doesn't even seem like the same strain. That's where you have to buy the good seeds with autos. I've yet to grow 2 of their seeds that had the same result.

You going to take some more cuttings of the BHP before you flip them yeah? They are worth preserving I recon..
