Inside barrel, any pointers?

Just in the mood to try something new (for me at least..)

Im located in India (Village not city) and the internet is really really not that good over here so please dont ask me to go google etc.. haha

well anyway here it goes:

I want to set up a grow inside a barrel.

The thing is that it will be covered (barrel cut in half, with the top just taken of for essential care) and with limitid ventalation (i guess this will be the fun part of the construction to make some cool arrengments with the carpetknife)

It will be placed inside a hut, plan to install some simple light (in the top part of the barrel,
maybe even try to do somekind of mini mini scrog (?).

So any pointers on what seed (That can be ordered with stealth worldwide)

It need to be something that stands tough conditions when it comes to light and heat and are small but quickly develop some good bud and less leaves.


i prefer sativa but im aware of the not suitable conditions this would be for that..unless someone have deeper knowledge in the matter? :)


Im still thinking of some different soultions for the construction so bare with me on this one,

consider it like a first indoor grow, will keep it simple just fem seeds and low "riskfactor"
And as cash is low for theses kin of investemnt when u live in rural india i prefer to keep it real lowprice as well haha 'Poverty' is a bitch ;) ;) ;)

Any Vibe is welcome will treat it as BLISS anyway

It sounds like you have done a bit of research which is a big plus. Sounds like it will be a tough job though. Maybe get your hands on some local seeds from decent bud floating around to try it out. Good luck and keep that happy vibe and have fun carving on that thing.

Thnx for reply, Yes local seeds there are plenty of, but they are very sativva, long flowering and space needy so goes best outside in the free :)

Yes will enjoy the carving (In a constructive kind of way)

Adding one question for this thread:

What kind of lightbulb/small tube would be suitable, Low in powerneed and minimum heat adding !??:)

Don't really see how you'd get full coverage of the plant with the light, and with a scrogg I don't see how you'd have enough room width wise, and I don't see how you'd keep the air moving to prevent bud rot, and I don't see how you'd check leaves ect, if you would have to climb in the barrel to look. I just see problems :/ sorry to be a downer

If you can get your hands on a couple of 24" fluorescent tubes they may work alright for you, especially if you go for a mini-scrog. Maybe 12/12 light from seed to keep it small and train it in your screen. You can keep those lights right up on the plant without worrying about heat. If you don't scrog, you can try the topping method too keep it short, but you will have to do it a few times because it will still want to be tall.
Also, you may need to cut holes in the bottom half of the barrel to allow proper air exchange, depending on how you have a fan set up.

I hear your points and also this is/was my doubts, but however i really really would like to test this out,

The plan is to cut the barrel in half and use the lower part for a pot and the upper as a lid with light installed facing down the lower one containing the mini scrog, so basically it will be an pot with a cover. Since it will be easy to carve any holes for filtration/small fan setup i think it could work with some suitable seed, and that is were im at this point.

You'll just be sad when you see the ammount of bud that you've produced :/. To much time for no results.

Yeah, my suggestion is that you send them all to me! :D. But for real, I'd love to taste an OG kush grown in a desert region like india. Well obviously it's not all desert, god quit fuckin grillin me, cause I'm already toasted. hahahahahahaha

I'm smoking weed from the dispensiary, growing out LA confidential and Legends ultimate clones right now. I do not have any seeds sadly :/. If you have a surplus of seeds, I would litterally thank you with all the power I have if you were to send them to me, and ask god to get you into heaven :p. If you're feeling nice I really need seeds and would be soooooo happy, no matter how they turn out.

thanks for the free pass offer but i do claim to have found the only heaven i need right here, for now at least, India land of reincarnation you know ;)

About the seeds, I really do think that spreading these or any landrace seeds could benefit many. And it will help to preserve as well beacuse nothing can stop the incoming of "new" products in the old crime controlled valleys of production here..its in the hands of a few criminals(or and cops..politics) instead of the farmers as usually... :( so with that said it would be better to make it known before it might dissapear in want for more cashcrops.

and even if they are not dissapearing India is ragarded by some to be the gift to the world so why not DELIVER on that point haha :)

right now up to my neck busy with some stuff, but do get back on the seed thing in a month or 2 if you remember and i will see what there is for options to handle that.. :)

The laws here are a tough however the system being corrupt at many instances makes it a little bit like the wild west sometimes haha. its mostly a cash thing. if you have cash here you could now get away with anything that is if youre willing to enter the corution game yourself by paying the bribes....
unfortunatly for India most people dont know better and regard this as a part of the system, but dont mean to make it sound all bad. there is so many people making their life a struggle for freedom from corruption sa no doubt India will move towards light in the future
Also to be said is that if you manage to smoke or and grow in europe and america without hustle you will surely not any problem here..

Imagine "advanced medical marijuana in India, knowing some tribals that are using it for ancient medical use but the highly advanced research you have over there and other places would to great good to population in need of natural options..the tablet market is CRAZY here. nobody knows what they are eating at least the doctors...
Once the village people of India knows about the benefits with the plant nothing can stop it from being "approved" .. like most things here.
