Installing a carbon filter early in your grow

Are there any advantages to attaching your carbon filter to your outtake ventilation configuration before plants start to produce odor? What other benefits, if any, does the filter offer other than removing odor from your grow room? I have it currently installed in my outtake configuration, but I'm probably wasting it's longevity having it installed this early in the grow.

nop, no advantages, quite the opposite actually, will make your ventilation about 20% less effective, plus it will "use" up your filter, filters last roughly a year depending on how much you run it (and also how much humidity you have, high humidity ruin the carbon faster) so would be kind a stupid to run it in early Veg. I fist add it once they begin to stink ..

I run perpetual so mine never stops in my flower box. i figured its not hurting anything but the filter and i can replace those anytime

but if youre legal and you dont have the money for a new one every 6 months to a year then you dont need to use it in veg.

But if youre not a legal grower and have a stinky strain then id let it run. Ive had strains that start smelling in the 3rd week of veg

The 100 bucks a year is worth your safety... IMO

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be removing it for now. Like I said, there's no odor yet and I'm not running a perpetual grow.
