Whelp, we've been asking the mayor to do something about fascist thugs travelling from all over the country to stage riots in our streets. Portland's mayor made noises about finding a way to stop groups with history of violence from getting those permits. But now, under criticism from Trump, Faux news and Senator Cruz, the City's answer seems to be to make it unsafe to confront fascists.

City officials in Portland, Oregon are considering banning masks for protesters in an effort to address clashes between protesters, Th Wall Street Journal reported.
The ban was first called for by Police Chief Danielle Outlaw after conservative writer Andy Ngo said he was attacked by antifa, or antifascist protesters, who often wear masks during their rallies. The group was protesting a march last month by the far-right Proud Boys, a self-described "chauvinistic men's group."
“A lot of people are emboldened because they know they can’t be identified,” Outlaw said at a news conference, according to the Journal.
Fascist groups like Patriot's Prayer and Proud Boys are famous for identifying and then threatening people who oppose them. Antifa defeats that tactic by wearing masks. Ngo would have had the shit beat out of him anyway, the masks had nothing to do with the response to his antics on that day. Fascists run the Portland Police department and this is nothing more than their desire to promote fascist marches in our streets. If you live in Oregon, write your state legislator asking them to do what they can. If you live in Portland, give the city council hell for this.
