Hey fellow RIUers! Im in the process of getting my environment right in an 11x22 room. ATM im only running one 1000(unsealed) but will be goin to four when I get everything dialed in. My problem ATM is there are two 8 inch fans pumpin air into the room however the air outside has been gettin cold at night(50s) and hot during the day(80s). I live in Co and im sure the outside temps are goin to get much lower. I plan to hook the 8 inchers up to sealed lights and use the cold night temps to keep them cool. My question is what can I do about the temp flux until i do that? sorry if i left anything out just. Thanx in advance peeps!

Maybe split the fans inputs, put one fan on a timer to shut off during cold hours?
Lights on at night?
You could wire up both intake and exhaust fans to blow outwards. Have the exhaust turned on and intake shut off during cold hours. Intake on exhaust off during hot hours? You will need two timers to use this.

yes lights on at night. i just came into possesion of the room. someone else built it. the equitment came with it. lights are on at night however the fan are wired to the light timer and come on when lights come on. its a converted garage(insulated) and the two fans are in the attic of the garage. i think one is pushin one is pullin. sorry guys i work 70+ hours a week and havent had much time to get in the attic. im off on thurs and my electrician/grower friend is coming to help me out but i was hoping to get some other opinions first.

i have ran a room like that what you need is nothing on air in but on exhaust out the problem when i first started the room as the cold fresh air came in it caused excessive RH so much that within 3 weeks in i would need to wipe down walls floor was like it had a flood
my friend pulling back the mylar i started having black mold growing on cinder block walls

TRust me your going to have the same shit happen ,,
i ran 2 two 4" passive intakes from outside air
and two 4 " 1600 watt exhaust fans with fans on that sized room circulated in 1 min having 6000 watts open ended temps were good no AC and like i said as out side temps got down to - 30 in winter that cold and hitting hot = wetness the room rained litterally no shit

To combat this i made a 5 x 10 shed with a heater in it pre heating my air before it got into room this stopped the condensation and as winter temps dipped i tuned down my exhaust g fans etc

The fans are connected to the same timer the lights are connected to. My plan when my electrician buddy comes over is to get rid of the timer set up an environment controller to operate the fans and install my lighting controller for the lights. Should have done this before but for some odd reason I didnt wanna mess with the previous system but now I know I have too. Thanx DB but what are motorized dampers? The room has a mini split(24kbtu....but not planning on using it yet) but for now i plan to hook up the 8inchers to air cooled lights and run that for a few runs to get a baseline and dial things in and then i want to upgrade to DEs. When I connect the sealed lights to the fans I know im gonna have to figure out a air exchange system for the actual room......because essentially the room is designed to be a sealed environment (has mini spilt and is ready for C02). so i got a question......how many sealed lights can a 8 in Max Fan cool? Im sure ambient temps come into play.....but winter is bout to be here. Thanx peeps for helpin me with this. RIU and its members are priceless right now to me.

So for the most part got my room dialed in. I also got in the attic and figured out the vent system. I have one 6 inch fan being used for intake and two 8 inch fans being used for exhaust(only one turned on for now). I connected both fans to my environment controller and temps have stayed a consistent 68-75. My plan this week is to set up 3 sealed lights and use one of the 8 inch fans to vent the lights directly outside. I will then use the 6 inch and the other 8 inch to vent the room. Sounds like a good idea folks? I also have a few more questions but i will start with this one....Two of my reflectors are 6 inch(when i purchased them I was still using a tent) and I have another one that is a 8 inch.So it would go like this: .

outside air>8inch ducting>8inch hole in ceiling>8inch ducting>reducer>6inch reflect.>6inch reflect.>8inch reflect>8inch ducting>fan>outside

Im guessing i also will need the opposite of a reducer(not sure what its called) after the 2nd 6 inch reflector. Will this setup work to vent my lights? Thanx for any help.
