iNTERRUPTING DARK PERIOD BY ONE HOUR MAKES MORE FEMALES

Gender is determined on seed creation, but cannabis is one of the plants where the gender can and WILL change if environmental factors demand it.

Read this, but the main point is stated in the last paragraph of the section.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis#Mechanisms_of_sex_determination

Cannabis sex can be influenced by soil ph, ethylene gas(if apples or bananas are placed around plants a little bit before flowering the gas can encourage females, this is also known as the banana religion, since it's really only a theory but it's success in test has shown to be a high rate. http://www.gardenscure.com/420/theories-speculation/108407-banana-religion.html)

There are many things that can influence the sex to change.
It all sounds a bit crazy to me that you can change a plants sex by the lighting cycle...... HOWEVER.. i noticed when my plants started losing light during their 24/0 because of other over grown plants, EVERY plant that was losing or shaded by the light sprouted female organs. Coincidence?? probably .. but i wouldn't rule this theory out.

The closest I have ever gotten to testing this theory was to take 6 regular seeds, not feminized, and grew them under 12/12 from the day they sprouted through the soil. All 6 were true female, none hermie. So, let's say subjectively if you have a 50/50 chance of getting male or female with a regular seed, the odds of planting 6 and getting all females would be 1 out of 2 to the 6th power, or 1 out 64. That left me assuming, unless I got pretty lucky, that the 12/12 from seed theory may hold some credence. Try it out if you have any room in your flowering space. A plant grown 12/12 from seed won't take up much space. I bet you will get more females than males doing this.

Note: I do not know if there is any predisposition for cannabis being either sex, so I know it may not be 50/50 male/female.

Im thinkinking this has some logic
behind this...

marijuana is a very smart plant...

if it knows that it cant vegg much from
seed then maybe a chemical reaction
triggers females since a small male's
pollen sacks(seeing how it is 12/12 from
seed) wont cover any ground to
pollenate a large number of female.but if
its a short female then it will most likey
get pollenated by the taller males...

females want to be short and males want to be taller bottom line...

Not only marijauna is smart, plants are honestly so fascinating. Its mad how complex they are, seeing as they are less " active " than mammals, they are very very very complex, varied and amazing!

What are the chances of soaking ten beans for about twenty hours in distilled water and then putting them into soil without germinating them and ending up with ten females from regular seed? I have no idea what causes it, but my female to male ratio after three grows is around eighty percent and I do not germinate my beans. I soak them and put them into the soil and keep it misted every few hours. I don't even use a humidity dome or anything to keep the soil warm. I fix my soil blend ahead of time watering it with mycorrhizae for the roots and also put a tablet or two into the soil. In that water I also use a weak solution of tiger bloom for the high phosphorous and also add worm castings into the soil.

Personally I think it must be the location of my house and its relation to earth's magnetic field. I hear location is everything

also mariuana plants are not 50/50 when sex is a factor but more 65/35 with the advantage going to the females thats just life one male plant could pollenate a number of females easily

all i can say is plants grow in the dark.how many time have you went ito your grow room the next morning to see a big growth spurt. plants gather light through out the day and use it for growth at night.
