Interrupting night cycle

Would it hurt to go to 24/0 from 18/6 approx 2.5 weeks into growth? Would it hurt them to go back to 18/6 if I decide it isnt helping?

I'm not sure what to do. They started out at 18/6 for 2.5 weeks. I did some stuff and forgot to switch the timer back over to timer and it was left in the 'on' position for the last week, week and a half. I found out tonight, changed it back so they could rest tonight. But should I have? Will I get hermies? Would it cause hermies to switch back and forth, or should I go back to 24 until flower?

okay. then when do people say 18/6?

This is the best way to describe it..

during a 24/0 cycle a plant can build itself... but it has to focus on taking in energy as well...

so to look at it in a weird way

(NOT CORRECT NUMBERS JUST AN EXAMPLE)
For a 24/0 Cycle; Your plant would be doing the following with its abilites
60% Taking in energy
40% Using that energy to construct itself.

When in a 18/6 cycle.
During those 6 off.. its doing this;
0% Taking in energy
100% Using the energy that has been stored to build itself.

that's the best way for me to explain it.

So both ways work for the veg state, just differently. Some prefer others. Personally Id like to see that rapid growth so I'm most likely gonna do an 18/6.
(6 when i head out to school and whatnot).

Sir, you must attend to your plants every day, check on them and whatnot. Not looking at them for a week... could be bad..

Then again, what im assuming you did, is check on the plants, just not actually take a look at the timer itself. Shit happens. :(

Right. I do check on them daily. I smoke with them every night at what is supposed to be bed time. 'Tucking them in' if you will. It's spiritual to me. But the thing is, they haven't been sleeping.

What happened is that I was transplanting and needed an extra few minutes. I was expecting the timer to shut off any minute so I flipped the switch (the kind that rotates, little disc, click once and it switches to timer, click again it turns to the on position, a standard timer). When I flipped the switch the light cutoff and I immediately knew that my plants had been getting 24/0. The timer should have done nothing and the lights should have stayed on, had the timer still been in the 'on' phase of the timing stage. The timer is under a counter and not easily accessible.

My biggest concern at this point is whether or not I should change them back to 24/0 and whether or not at this stage (a month old and still in veg) they are susceptible to becoming hermies from the light change.

Does anyone know?
