Why not order proper pin heat sinks and go passive from cutter.au?Has anyone mounted cob's directly to plate aluminium as a heatsink? shipping from the US to AU would be a stinger shipping the fin heatsinks as they are bulky but posting the 1212 CITI chips should be a fraction of the cost
i have 4mm plate aluminium and a couple 12cm computer fans for active cooling
this will be for my veg tent and running the 1212 CITI's at 35watts
any idea guys?

Sorry @CobKits not trying to do you out of some business in your own thread, it just makes sense.
<$20Mr Cob. I'm in Texas. I'm putting faith in decently cheap shipping from California.

they had the fin heatsink in stock and within 24 hours i think around 30 pieces were sold and out of stock
its all relative. the licor is pretty flat but it cuts off steeply at 700 nm.-Do these figures need correction based on the chips SPD and the li-cor's curve, or is the curve flat enough that it is not needed
LI-190-Which li-cor sensor was used
i went thru the tests pretty fast. i doubt the sphere got more than a degree or two over ambient. the heatsinks were outside the sphere in ambient air, chip sticking inside the 2" port-What was the approx temp in sphere
voltage and current recorded from a Korad benchtop power supply-What method was used to monitor power consumption, or was it estimated based on the current
those are all gen3 CXM22, part number ending in -F4. significant spec jump over gen2 (-F3) so dont use thoseI plan to run a few tests with the CXB3590 3500K CD and DB, the CXM22 and possibly Vero29 gen 7 for starters.
