introducing mineral rock dust

it will not make or break a grow, but it is very beneficial.

is it any different than glacial rock dust? which is a generic for azomite.

im really not to sure. im going to do a comparison with 2 black widows from mr nice seeds . one with rock dust and one without to see the difference hopefully their phenos arnt to different so i can make a better comparison

I always put a handfull in the upper layer of the container before I transplant and it is in my SS mix as well.

Dont quote me on this but I think it has a lot of macro-nutrients, it is slow release and also impossible to burn your plants with it.

This is my opinion but I have done some reading up on it and I believe it to be true. Plants that have a higher mineral content have a higher Brix level. Higher Brix levels = healthier plant, better taste, better disease and insect resistance, and weigh more than a low Brix fruit/veg of equal size.

First off Azomite is a damn trade name for a hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate (HSCAS) containing other minerals and trace elements mined in Utah. It's volcanic in origin. Saying Azomite is the same as Rock Dust is the same as saying top soil is the same no matter where you go in the planet. Glacial rock dust is exactly that. Pulverized rock from the entire drift line of the glaciers that pulverized and deposited them. Yes, generically it is all crushed up rock. But it is not the same composition. In the end it is nothing but beneficial. I use 100's of pounds of it in my organic vegetable garden every year. Especially in making my compost.

I believe the growth of plants is limited by the availability of the least present element in the available nutrients. You can cover your N-P-K bases with nutrients and fertilizers. But there are any number of other elements and minerals a plant utilizes outside of the major macro and micro nutrients offered in most commercial nutes that just aren't there. Rock Dust and Azomite fill these gaps. Kind of like mortar for a brick wall..... yes you can stack bricks and they can form a wall. But it isnt a sturdy solid wall until you mortar the bricks together.

Ive been using the vital earth rock dust and its a must for me it replaces my Cal-mag supplement and my babies have been a lot sturdier since i started using it. Be care tho try not to breathe this stuff in. its bad for your health ya dingus!

How did that grow go? I’m using basalt dust as of right now. Let me know how it went
