Well, you finally did it, you kept this thread alive for over 1,000 posts. You get the prize, (the prize inside).Read my post Paddy, it clearly says ALL Presidents...why do you keep inferring I'm a Republican... I am not.
This isn't a simple navy exercise in hostage extraction. This is going to take a set of balls to pull off. I can already see this journalists epitaph being written.... we'll see.
out.
Which bring you to the point thatThe American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) is a conservativethink tank,[1] founded in 1943. According to the institute its mission is "to defend the principles and improve the institutions of American freedom and democratic capitalism limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, political accountability, and open debate".[2] AEI is an independent, non-profit organization. It is supported primarily by grants and contributions from foundations, corporations, and individuals. It is located in Washington, D.C.
I think the above pretty much sums up the content of the prior post.
What drove you to frenzy, the truth. All I was saying was the article was hugely biased by the right, by the conservative think tank. Was I lying? I don't think so. Are there liberal think tanks, I suppose so. But are they as fanatical as the right, I doubt it. Afterall, the right has most of the capital, and loss of that capital is what drives them to frenzy. Sort of like you just did.Which bring you to the point that
There are Liberal Think thanks that were founded in the past that have missions to attack the principles and undermine the institutions of Freedom, and Democratic Capitalism - limited government, private enterprise, individual liberty, and responsibility, vigilant and effective defense and foreign policies, political accountability, and open debate?
What are you attacking?
The fact that it wants to
support freedom?
support Capitalism?
supports Limited Government?
Supports Private Enterprise?
supports Individual Liberty?
Supports Individual Responsibility?
Supports Vigilant and Effective Defense and Foreign Policies?
Supports Political Accountability?
Supports Open Debate?
What is your problem with any of those?
Do you want more slavery so dislike it's support of Freedom?
Oh, there it is, the Capitalism bit, you support Socialism so have a problem with it supporting Capitalism.
Wait, maybe it's the limited government, you want unlimited government, that dictates, when, where and how much you defecate.
Or maybe you oppose liberty, there is no liberty in slavery.
Or maybe its the individual responsibility...
What's your problem with their goals, because if you say its the fact that they accept donations from corporations I'll laugh my ass off, because the leftist think tanks do the same thing.
Thank God, A voice of reason. I was beginning to think I was all alone. There aren't many liberals on this site, or if there are, they are the silent type. There is always more than one side to a story and we need more liberals to step up and take on these heathen conservatives and their unhealthy agendas. Voices from the people need to be heard. We hear all the reasons free market capitalism is great, but never the down side. Like the overwhelming wasteful destruction of resources and the usery of labor for the the upper classes comfort. We need more vociferous liberals on the attack.Unfortunately, I've read a number of the posts in this thread.
Iran Update?...None of these conservative numb skulls know enough about Iran to talk about it, much less think they can argue the ambitions of a Nation they dont understand.
First off, Iran has a right to nuclear power AND weapons for that matter. Israel, has hundreds of nuclear weapons that they legally shouldnt have under international law. But the USA likes to ignore that their little bitch country has these weapons. Not to mention the Isrealis are much more radical and pro-violence than any Iranian, believe me.
Secondly, all you morons that think the USA and Isreal can just waltz into Iran and change the leadership, and disarm the (non-existant) WMD's, and ect..are completely ignorant. The USA cant handle Iraq. Iran has 5x the population, 5x the landmass, and 5x the fighting power of the Iraq that the US invaded. Not to mention half of the nuclear sites are located half a mile underground. I'd like to see ANY missle or bomb go that deep.
Also, the ones that said Iran has enough nuclear material to make a bomb, are just crying wolf to try and prove a false point. MANY countries have enough uranium to produce a nuclear weapon. Yet VERY FEW, have the resources, time, and money to enrich it into WEAPONS GRADE plutonium.
The only thing I hate more than conservatives, are ignorant ones that run their mouths and create lies and mistrust.
All you right wing mavericks are the same one who rallied for war against Iraq, the same ones that elected Bush, and the ones that currently propogate hate and rumors towards a country that you know NOTHING about.
What tricked the American people into going to war with Iraq, was lies and spun information from conservatives. Dont let them try and pull the same bullshit with Iran. Ive had enough of these fucking morons ruining my country. Thank God we now have a democrat to clean up the mess.
Wait, is not Saudi Arabia Sunni muslims and Iran Shia muslims? And, are they not sworn enemies for the last few centuries? That may be a deciding factor in Saudi permission.Look, we aren't trying to change the Iranians into something they are not. We just don't want an unstable regime having nukes and destabilizing that entire region more than it already is.
Paddy, somehow a lot of folks feel that if we just do the right thing by Iran (fill in the blank to what that is, I sure don't know), they are going to like us. They are not!
There is a world of difference between Israel having nukes and Iran having nukes. I shouldn't have to explain the contrast to you. It should be self evident by now.
The US is not alone on this issue. Did you happen to know that Saudi Arabia has already given the Israelis permission to use their airspace in an attack on Iran? Why? Because they see the very real danger of the situation as I do. Iran is not a grown up nation and has no business with nuclear warheads. Neither does North Korea or Pakistan for that matter. All three countries are unstable.
Iran having nukes will create a need for the rest of the Middle east to go nuke..... does anybody really want to see that happen? It's going to if Iran is allowed to proceed.....illegally I might add.
If I was an Iranian I'd be revolting against my government....oh wait, that has already happened....and Obama gave them the sharp stick in the eye for their troubles.
Having a society and being civilized are two different things.....Iran has not put the two together yet.
Yeppers, we can always count on the Democrat Party's expertise on foreign policy to "clean up the messes."Ive had enough of these fucking morons ruining my country. Thank God we now have a democrat to clean up the mess.
Nixon cleaned up Johnson.
Reagan cleaned up Carter.
Bush cleaned up Clinton.
I feel sorry for the next republican president...............
Paddy, it's very clear since I have actually paid attention that the dem's are SOFT on national security and backing up resolutions. This was not always the case and the modern dem's are a faded replacement of the old guard.
This weakness leads to foreign policy decay and it usually blows up at some point. 9/11 is the latest travesty wich unfortunately proves my point.
The dem's have never recovered from Vietnam. They just haven't....
