Is 5ph too low for soil?

I understand using too much is a bad thing. You are really only supposed to use it when a big mag deficiency. But I got a bag years ago and Ive only used half of it. From what ive read and belived for a while now, is that the lime has a neutral ph so adding it will kindof help you get centered. not instantly but sortof maintain a better ph.

I use it a few times a year in the water, and at the end of the season I lightly sprinkle it around the whole area. (maybe a cup for a 10x10 area and just let it soak in...like I said I got 99%pine trees so I know its pretty acidic in the area. never really tested the soil to know for sure.

this big paragraph next I just copied and pasted, but it seems worth using. (from a cannabis culture forum/thread called dolomitic lime)

"Lime is a compound made up of calcium or calcium and magnesium. It is used to reduce the damaging effects of acidic soil. (in other words, raise the ph) This is often refered to as "sweetening" the soil. Lime reduces the toxicity of elements in the soil, such as aluminum, manganese, and iron which can adversely affect plant growth. It also adds desirable nutrients, such as calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. In addition, lime increases bacterial activity, helping improve soil structure. Liming increases rates of air and water infiltration. Plus, it improves nitrogen availability of phosphorus and magnesium. Calcium present in lime aids in plant cell wall formation and structure and helps regulate nutrient uptake through the roots and movement throughout the plant. Calcium is necessary for early root growth and new top growth. The lack of calcium will result in poor root development, deformed terminal leaves, and overall yellowing and drooping leaf structure. Magnesium is essential to chlorophyll synthesis and nitrogen metabolism. It helps in the formation of amino acids, vitamins, sugars, oils and fats. Dolomitic lime and calcitic lime are the two most commonly used types in gardening."

I think its important but overdoing is very easy to do.
