Is 600W Open socket too much heat for 6.5ft?

I have a 6.5ftx6.5ftx6.5ft tent and was wondering if an open 600W HPS would be too much heat? I am trying to replace a 1500W heater thats killing my bill with no added yielding benefit. I have alot of fans in their already plus a 1000W air cooled hood with inline fan. Any thoughts? THANKS. Here is a pic of the room.

What are your ambient temps? I have an open 1000 watt mh in my 4x4 with a 6 inch booster fan and it's ok because its in a cool garage.

Around 50-60 degrees F. Good question forgot to say. Well that is without heater. With my heater I keep it at about 68-77

Should be fine I guess. I have ducting at the bottom running thru a charcoal fishtank filter ( I taped it on the open end of the ducting) and the fan pulling out from the top. Seems to work for me. Just put a fan underneath your light blowing the heat up to the exhaust. Play with it, your gonna get it worked out fine.

So your air cooling your hood and then adding heat to the environment? Couldn't you simply slow down your inline fan and capture some of the heat from the existing lamp.

I could but I would also like to increase my yield. Getting two birds stoned at once!

As long as you can exhaust the heat quick enough it should be fine...one way to find out. Just be careful...once you barebulb it ...there's no goin back.

I have a 600 watt light in the exact same size tent. It never gets too hot. Of course I'm having to heat it as well.

I don't think the 600 watt light will cause to many heating issues. the 1000 watt light puts out quite a bit more heat.

I forgot to add about why are you using an open socket with a horizontal grow? If it was a stadium or verticle grow then I would be all for an open socket.
