Is autoflower really faster indoors?

I looked up the grow times for the last autos I ran because this thread made me curious.

Big Bud - 93 days
BCN Critical XXL - 110 days
Dr. Feelgood - 128 days
Diesel-Matic - 128 days
Lemon Auto - 134 days

Pretty much this.

Although I've never seen any indication in any of the autos I've grown that they are any more "finicky" than photos.

More misinformation IMO.
I grow vegetables and herbs indoors hydroponically as well. To clarify when I say finicky I meant more in a general sense of growing compared to everything else I have grown. I don’t have enough experience with photos to say they are more “finicky “.

sometimes I just water the non cannabis plants with the run off from the cannabis and they look amazing almost neglecting them sometimes. Where as with the autos I’m checking pH 5-8 times a day and just babysitting the crap out of them l, changing out the res every 2 days and they don’t look nearly as happy as the other plants.

7 weeks seed to harvest does sound nuts. I was on gelato last night to pick one out. They have 2 strains that claim to be 7 weeks seed to harvest. Candy cane (ak47/white widow/mango) and nyc diesel. Candy cane is a nice 21% thc and i like the parents so im gonna give that one a go in dwc, throw it in a 2x2 tent with 100watt mars cob. If i get 2-3 oz in 7-8 weeks, ill be very impressed. If anything can get it done that quick, i think dwc will be it

For an auto with an expected time of 7 weeks, what size of plant should i expect? Just trying to decide if i should do more than one in a 2x2 tent.
My biggest auto was a cross of sweet skunk/ dark devil and was about 4 feet tall and yielded almost 7z. I think one in a 2x2 sounds about right of you're doing dwc. Two might get a little cramped but you can still do it in a 2x2.

Sounds about right. I was in a 2x2 with 3.5 gal pots and PL was 1.5z and GC was about 3.5

I grow 2 autos in 5 gal fabric pots in 2.3x2.3
But it's soil... In dwc you'd probably have bigger plants so 1 in a 2x2 for starters sounds about right. Next batch you could try 2 depending on your results

Gotcha. I'm running DTW coco and it's easy. Measure your EC and pH going in, fertigate to proper runoff and done. No need to check pH 5-8 times a day.

Based on the majority of replies, it sounds like the answer to my original question is a big NOOO, and in fact the average auto takes weeks LONGER than a fast photoperiod. Over 100 days on average sounds ridiculous to me since i grew photos (thunderfuck) from rooted cutting to harvest is 60 days, count the rooting and round up, call it 70 days, 3 to 4 oz plant. Autos take a MONTH longer? Seriously? I guess im just gonna have to see for myself. Ill be doing candycane in dwc.

I have been pulling about 10oz per plant. My biggest auto right now, far and away the largest I have grown, is looking like a pounder so there's at least that.

You just compared clones to autos. Not even close to the same ballpark for comparison sake.

Indoor or outdoor? I can see the huge advantage outdoor, but based on what im hearing its starting to sound like if you have control over the light, you might as well grow photo. I still have to try it. Maybe ill do a journal. I picked the fastest strain they had and ill be shocked if it really does take longer than the fast photos i grew before

Seemed pretty comparable to me, is a fresh unrooted cut really that much far ahead than a seed? Maybe a little, id say definitely no more than a week, so lets add another 7 days, brings my 70 days up to 77 and the general consensus is this tnread is that autos are taking 100 days minimum. I had already accounted for 10 days of rooting and i added 7. I think its pretty fair to say a 17 day old seed is further along than a rooted cutting. Still thats 23 days faster than the 100 minimum for an auto.

Ok sounds like you are just processing numbers with no real experience. Good luck. I'd love to see this journal.
