WOW Nice Avatar 1st off Bazoomer LMFAO!!

Yeah I've seen problems with candles before too. I had a girlfriend that loved burning them, and I warned her all the time not to sleep with em on. Well next thing I'm waking up with fire in my eyes, and jumping at the wall to slap it out. I put out a decent little fire with my hands because I was sleepy and just went into hero mode to save the house. I burnt my hands pretty bad and missed 2 weeks of work.

However, When I use the candles in the closet, they are in a coffee can which is in a metal bowl, and the closet is huge so not to be a tinder box. I only do it on the weekends when I'm home not working. I do understand the dangers of fires believe me. I get paronoid when the neighbor uses wood chips in the BBQ.

I can identify with Lorenzo08 too lol. And I hope your right that my plant should be OK.

I like doing my mushroom inoculations at night I've already bought a green light bulb so I can see but I need a constant flame running to flame sterilize my supplies. Does one candle along with a green light bulb emit enough lumens to interrupt the dark period? The moon puts out lumens.. how much is too much?

1 candle isn't going to make any difference at all, its basically 1 lumen of energy at 1 foot away, at 3 feet away its got less light energy than the moon. I have never used the green light myself so I can't say if its effective or not, i just do not go in the room when lights off. Second of all Plants don't go hermie that easily, if they did nature would produce far far more hermies than it does. Your gonna really need to jack with the lights schedules and other things to cause it, most hermie plants are genetically hermie, or were manipulated with chemicals to make it hermie. Light is not that big an issue! You should be fine!

I accidently left the candles on when trying to make Co2 and forgot to blow them out before the dark cycle on 12/12. Has anyone heard any bad effects from doing this once? Did I really set her back, and stress her out bad?? I left the candles on for about 5 hours through the dark cycle. I am about one month or so into flowering, and the buds look sweet.

Not thread jacking just have similar concerns. Good Luck with the Grow!!
Please see my post for similar topic. PEACE!!

Guess how much CO2 is given off by burning a candle.....Absolutely NONE!!!! A burning candle gives off CO which is whats called Carbon Monoxide, the same thing coming out of a cars tailpipe that kills people(Suicide) in garage every year. In fact most anything that burns gives off CO as a byproduct of carbon oxidizing in the burning process. CO kills brain cells....it is poisonous to a degree. Burning candles is just a fire hazard that is adding to the heat in the room and doing harm to the plants in general. Your buds would probably be even bigger if the candles were never used.

You wanna get some CO2? go get a bottle, regulator, solenoid valve and a timer and make it all happen.
