Is Fish Water Good?

Now ive heard from a few people on here and from a friend that the water in fish tanks is great to water your plants with. Any truth to this??? Peace Sirus rep for educated responses

I have also heard a lot of people watering thair plants with the water from the fish tank.

I however have never tried it but I have a saltwater aquarium!

There are plenty of fish emulsions that claim to be great substinance for plant growth out there. I have looked into it and from what I have heard, people get great results out of the emulsions. Also, there are even some people on this website that have made "soups" out of fish parts and from the pictures they have provided, it looks pretty great!

I think with anything you need to check the balance of the NPK content in the fish water. Those are the 3 main elements that plants love and are what is most vital to plant developement.

I think if you want to save some money and decide to NOT buy nutrients then Aquarium water might help but it is much easier to add your own.

Yes, it does work great. A proper fish tank should be chemical free and PH balanced, both desired traits in water for a plant. Beyond that though the water is very nutrient rich thanks to the fish droppings.

Now can you use fish water with nutrients or is that just too much? what about fish water then nutrients then fish water and just go back and forth

Yes you can. I water my plants with water from my tropical tank. It works wonders

Just dont use salt water...lol. Fresh water fish tanks Only.

Yes, nutrients can be used with them. The fish water works much like a very weak tonic you may buy and helps improve overall plant health but does not supply some of the core nutrients in high enough dosages fertilizer do. I personally was watering about every 5 days or so on my last grow using fish water every time. In combination I would sometimes include BMO plant tonic or rarely a beer with the water and then nutrients on the suggested 2 week schedule. (Two weeks worked well because I didn't want to let the soil completly dry out like normal and then shock the plants with nutes, so soil was still somewhat damp.) I would probably not go full strength with nutrients the first time though and watch plant to make sure it's taking the new water correctly before you go full time with it.
