Congratulations. Now you know that there is more to the world than the USA and not everyone does the same thing. Or did you really not know about this cultural manner of smoking? We take tobacco, we add cannabis in one form or another, like with a mixer, it can be as strong or weak as you feel in the mood for.

No. Once again, utter nonsense. Why am i not allowed to enjoy tobacco if i'm into cannabis? I can take my cannabis however i like, it has nothing to do with your personal opinion on how cannabis should be consumed. But right, i'm not into cannabis because i smoke spliffs. Muppet. Have you ever considered that a lot of people couldn't give two damns about the health side, or the flavour side, they just love cannabis because they love getting stoned? you are simply trying to assert your own opinion across everyone. Not everyone is like you. But i guess you're right, i clearly can't be into cannabis because i smoke tobacco with it.
Loving Cannabis and loving getting high are two entirely different things. When people say they love cannabis they mean MUCH MORE than just that they enjoy getting high.

Would you call an alcoholic an alcohol lover, or a drunk lover? They just like getting drunk, they don't care for or respect alcohol.

A stoner and a cannabis enthusiast are two completely different things. Just because you like getting high doesn't mean you are a cannabis enthusiast. It means you're a stoner. Not caring about flavor is another sign of a stoner, not an enthusiast.

I'm not saying enthusiasts are better than stoners, but don't act like you have respect for the plant, when the ONLY thing you are about is getting high. That's not love of the plant, that's just pleasure seeking behavior.

I drink craft beer, I brew myself, I love beer, I respect the process and the product. Someone who loves getting drunk on natty ice isn't a beer enthusiast. They are a drunk.

Someone who eats nothing but mcdonalds is not a food enthusiast, they are a stuffing your face with burgers enthusiast.

Whether or not you recognize these differences doesn't effect their existence.

Now at the same time I'd never bash someone for putting tobacco in their joints (or smoking joints in the first place) My preferred way of consuming cannabis is BHO on a ti-nail through a glass piece. That's what I like. If you like joints with tobacco in them that's cool, but don't claim to be what you aren't. You love getting high, nothing wrong with that, but you must understand many others love for the plant goes far far deeper and you cheapen it by claiming the same love with none of the dedication showed.

Your smoking buddies are idiots, that's just the fact of the matter.

Once again if they want to smoke dirt, that's their choice, but their reaction to concentrates is pure ignorance, not a matter of choice.

As someone else said, pretty standard bottom-of-the-barrel "chilling" friends, I'd shy away from such ignorant people if I were you. I wouldn't be surprised if that crap doesn't even get them high and they just smoke it because they think it makes them super duper neat-o.

That is simply your opinion and I will respect it. I love cannabis and it doesn't in any way have to mean much much more. Noone can try and categorize and define someone else's love for something. I could love cannabis simply because it looks pretty. I could love it simply for its taste, I could love it for what it does, by which I am not talking about getting high. You cannot define someone else's reason for love. We smoke cannabis with tobacco because it is our culture, it has nothing to do with beingfg a lover and enthusiast of the stuff. I don't have to show dedication to shit to have a love for it.

I am getting drunk on the cheapest beer in the shop, it holds absolutely no bearing on me being a beer enthusiast or not, and has absolutely no bearing on me being defined as a drunk.

I eat nothing but junk food, but you know what, I'm about as big a food enthusiast as they come. Just because all I eat is ramen because that's all I can afford holds no bearing on my enthusiasm for food.

Your whole post Sounds pretty self ritcheous to me. Just because you can afford to smoke bho with to nails does not in any way mean someone who can only afford to smoke with tobacco, let alone because that is the culture in their country, has absolutely no bearing on whether they love the plant or not. Get off your high horse.

Maybe, in a "cultural" sense, you could describe enjoying marijuana in the same way as enjoying a formal, high tea in the British way. In other words, culturally-speaking, there IS a "proper" way to make/have tea. And, by the same token, there IS a way to enjoy marijuana properly, too.

The OP was asking for opinions as to why his friends judge him for not wanting to take the typical "pothead kid" approach to getting high that they do. My answer was simply pointing out that those friends are likely low brows who are more concerned with their peer-uniformity than they are in learning the finer points of what they are inhaling.

Thanks tstick

sadly they are my closest friends one I grow with and he loves it but his wife controls him. She actually banned us from smoking non blunted hash over there because it "smells funny". I just ran outta my stash for now in hash and am back to a blunt. It now tastes like shit compared to what I was smoking with the hash. And this is with a wrap made for herb not tobacco. It's the same bud I made the hash with so good bud. But after that pure taste this is doing nothing for my taste buds. It is getting me high though.

I'm nowhere near wealthy, I drive a beat up old car and dress in t-shirts and jeans. I just choose quality over quantity on things I really care about. I honestly didn't intend for it to come off as condescending, although re-reading it, it does, I was just trying to convey how strongly some people feel and how deep they are involved, and when you put that much time and effort into something you care so much about, it's a bit off-putting to see someone claim the same level of love and care without putting any of that dedication into that thing that you have. Studying every nuance and aspect of genetics, growing process, harvesting, curing, further refinement into concentrate, it's a lot of work to really care about something.

I'm not talking about smoking joints or mixing tobacco (I even mentioned that in my other post) I don't think that would stop someone from being a cannabis lover. I'm well aware of the culture in Europe of mixing tobacco with cannabis. Not for me personally, but it just comes down to the care about what you are doing. But saying you don't care about the flavor, all you care about is getting high, that doesn't sound like someone with care, love and respect, it sounds like someone who just likes to get high. And I wasn't trying to say there is anything wrong with that.

Take coffee for example. I like coffee. I drink it in the morning to wake me up. I'm not really picky about how it's consumed, it always tastes OK to me, and gives me some energy. I would never claim to be a coffee lover, even though I enjoy the beverage, because I know there are people out there that REALLY actually do show a true love for coffee. Researching different countries beans, growing and roasting processes, brewing methods, etc etc. They take it seriously. I don't, and I don't claim to. It would seem insulting to proclaim myself a coffee enthusiast, being rather ignorant of coffee and never really putting any serious care of effort into it. That's my point. I'm not saying your no good because you don't take it as seriously as others, I'm just saying have a little respect for people that dedicate a large portion of their lives to all things cannabis, they are true lovers of the plant.

Just like if someone says "I really love kids" but the extent of their love is just checking out friend's baby pictures. Not really the same thing as someone who makes a career out of helping children, or has foster kids, etc is it?

[I'm trying to quit cigs..]
...I quite cigs a couple months ago with the help of bad weed. Whenever i needed to smoke a cig i replaced it with the crap smoke. For about two weeks i was smoking 5 joints a day cut in two and was the angriest pot head i've ever known. It worked in the end but i recommend you don't have to do anything serious while you try to quit.
Good luck on quitting the nicotine!

I smoked cigs for 15 years. Quit for a year, then smoked cigars for 15 years. They weren't nearly as bad on the lungs as cigs because you don't inhale, but you get at least as much nicotine, if not more, absorbed through the gums and lining of the mouth. Had to have gum surgery from all the tobacco stains on my teeth. And it fucked up my stomach to the point of now having to use Prilosec every day, damn it.

Proud to say I'm completely nicotine free for over two years now! I still have occasional but rare cravings. They pass quickly. The few times I've actually smoked a cig since quitting tobacco altogether were awful experiences. Heartburn, smelly breath and hands, awful aftertaste. I don't like smelling it on other people now. A cloud of stink follows smokers everywhere. I can't imagine smoking a blunt at all. Anyway...

It's hard, but in the long run you'll thank yourself for quitting nicotine.

Nicotine is one of the MOST addictive substances known to man. The tobacco companies intentionally make cigarette tobacco more addictive with the "flavor" enhancers they add. All to keep you puffin'.

It's fucked up! Sell a product that's nearly guaranteed to kill your most loyal (and addicted) customers. That's one fucked up business model.

Anyway, not to be a bitch about it, but seriously, it's hard as hell to quit. But once you're over the initial withdrawal symptoms, it gets easier. The longer you go without it the better you'll feel and eventually you'll reject it out of hand, without even thinking about it. That will take a year or more, but you'll get there.

If you relapse, just quit all over again. And keep quitting till you don't smoke tobacco ever again.

I don't really like smoking joints anymore, though I will. I prefer my little glass water bong. It's easier on the throat and lungs, and smoking kief or hash out of it is even better. 1 hit and chillax for half an hour or so till the next toke.

I was home all day Saturday, high all day too, and never took more than a dozen tokes all day, total. You can't do that with cigarettes. One cigarette is easily a dozen puffs, and I used to smoke a pack a day...more on the weekends.

Anyway, sorry for the rant.
Good luck to you.
