Is it common for a lady to start slow? Plant foreplay... before growth

Most real women prefer this, do plants as well?
Do they like slow foreplay before the act? Of growing quickly that is, haha.

Reason why I ask. I have 5 different species growing at once, three are superior in growth speed than the other two.
I have one plant that after three weeks of growth still only has one node and 4 leaves (total). It does appear to be speeding up though. I almost destroyed it, but its showing signs of promise now.

So many factors could cause this, but how common is it a plant starts incredibly slow, but speed up over time... dare I say, catches up with the others?
Or, is a runt a runt... thoughts?

If it is in coco I would wonder what is going on. Week 2.5 I usually start lst with 4-6 nodes. I use good seeds though.

Hmmm, what do you mean you "almost destroyed it"? That could be relevant...
Good question... I didn't take steps to destroy it. I almost did because it wasn't growing (to replace it). But after two weeks of stunted/non growth, it appears to be speeding up.
It will always be smaller than its neighbors, but I'm curious if its worth keeping. Even just for experimental reasons.
But, for the record, I kept things consistent across all 5 seeds. I used Fox farms Ocean forest... and I'm using a tent so temps/humidity are all controlled too.

Was it similar where its growth was slower, at the beginning?
Yes, all variables were kept the same (except for one)... soil type (Fox Farms), process to open the seed (paper towel method), same water (distilled), etc, etc.
The one variance... I used older soil to help start the seed because FF is very hot. I tried growing the exact same strain (Durban Poison) at the beginning and it just fell over and looked burnt from too much nitrogen.
So, this newer seed was planted in older dirt (just a small amount) and its surrounded by FF. I figured that might help get the seed started.
My theory, the older soil didn't possess enough nutrients, but now that the seedlings is more mature and has grown roots into the FF, its starting to grow faster.

Paper towel method can lead to stripping tiny hair roots invisible to the naked eye and ultimately the potential for a stunted plant
My thoughts on that method

The wonky one is what I was referring to, started out behind from the rest, same strain. Like one just said, it did have a rough germination. I planted too quick, had been a while. Paper method but I stick with it because it is all I know. Just let it fully unwind and keep wet.

If it was a tad bit too far behind and space tight or had to be consitent, I would toss. Soil, I thought takes longer for seedlings to develop vs 3 weeks in coco. 2 nodes, woah. Would like to see what it looks like.

The paper towel method is the one I've always used....no regrets. But, IF you allow them to stay on the paper towel too long and the root starts to embed itself, then don't try to pull it out of the towel...Instead, just carefully cut or tear the paper towel around the root and plant the whole thing.

Last group my runt ended up being the largest mature plant.
Males will usually grow tall faster because they need to have pollen ready for the females- they also usually show sex early for the same reason
