Is it dumb to grow in an apartment?

you should be able to grow in an aprtment without any problems just make sure you change your locks that way if u aint home and maintenance has to get in your apartment they cant

It's only dumb if you get caught. Just take extra precautions and it's hard to get caught.

The one big advantage to a tent over a wooden grow box is how easy and small they break down to. I mean, if you build a 4x4 box if won't even get through a door without being disassembled. What if the landlord wants to do an inspection "tomorrow". Good luck breaking your wooden grow box down in time. Grow tent can break down and shove under the bed in 10 minutes.

Regarding fan noise, the best bet is to get a fan larger than necessary, then also get a speed controller and slow the fan down. This will significantly reduce the fan noise while still pulling lots of air.

i grew in my apartment...everything was cool until five weeks into flower....then knock knock....neighbor said she could smell cannabis coming from my room. next day I moved them..not worth it. i was stupid and didnt have a scrubber....its a MUST. dont learn the hard way

Well there you go, as you said -- you were stupid for not having a scrubber. $100 in advance would have solved that problem.

Depends how you do it and where you stay....

risk is too high, imo.

Get a 2 bedroom and a grow tent and you're good. trust me..as long as you aren't trying to be Frank Lucas growing insane amounts of bud you should be fine. Just keep it down to 3 or 4 medium sized plants with a 400-600 watt light and use T5 for veg and dont let anyone go in that other bedroom your growing in. Ive done it for 2 years in a single bedroom, I plan on moving into a 2bedroom in a few months. Also as long as you have negative pressure in your tent from the fan then it wont smell that much...atleast mine doesn't. The only time it reeks is in the morning when I turn the exhaust fan on before the lights turn back on after the dark period because of all the stale stinky air from sitting with no exhaust for 12 hours
