Yes, definitely wait. Read the forums. You will find a lot of threads on picking, when to pick, etc. The last two weeks of flowering are the most important. Don't cheat yourself.

Looks decent, enjoy yourself now.

DO NOT HARVEST AFTER ONLY 6 WEEKS. YOUR BUDS ARE NOT FULLY DEVELOPED. THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE THAT READS THIS THREAD. IF YOU HAVE AN 8 WEEK STRAIN... PLAN ON GIVING IT 9 TO 10 WEEKS BEFORE HARVESTING.

I MENTIONED THIS YESTERDAY, AND I GUESS PEOPLE ARE FORGETTING HOW TO USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION ON RIU, SO.. I SUPPOSE I COULD RETYPE THE ENTIRE THING ONE MORE FREAKING TIME.

WHENEVER YOU BUY SEEDS FROM A BREEDER, THEY HAVE THEIR 'ADVERTISED FLOWERING TIME'. Okay? THIS 'ADVERTISED FLOWERING TIME' IS THEIR 'APPROXIMATE' FLOWERING TIME.. MEANING THAT IF YOUR GROW ENVIRONMENT PROVIDES AN 'OPTIMUM' (ABSOLUTELY PERFECT) GROWING ENVIRONMENT. MEANING PERFECT TEMPS ALL THE TIME, PERFECT AIR FLOW ALL THE TIME, PERFECT PH ALL THE TIME, PERFECT RH LEVELS ALL THE TIME.... Understand what I'm saying now?

SO THEREFORE, WHAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO WHEN BUYING SEEDS FROM A BREEDER.. IS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK THEIR 'ADVERTISED FLOWERING TIME' AND ADD AT LEAST ONE WEEK IF NOT TWO WEEKS TO THE 'ADVERTISED FLOWERING TIME' THAT THE BREEDER HAS POSTED FOR THE PARTICULAR STRAIN YOUR INTERESTED IN BUYING FROM THAT BREEDER.

ANOTHER THING TO REMEMBER IS THIS.. WHENEVER YOU "THINK" YOUR PLANTS ARE DONE?? ALWAYS GIVE THE PLANT AN EXTRA 7 TO 10 DAYS.. JUST TO GIVE IT A LITTLE EXTRA TIME.. TO MAKE SURE THAT THE PLANT IS FULLY PLUMP AND RIPE FOR HARVESTING.

HARVESTING EARLY WILL DO NOTHING FOR YOU EXCEPT GIVE YOU AN END PRODUCT THAT WON'T BE FULLY MATURE.. THEREFORE WILL LACK POTENCY. NOT ONLY WILL IT LACK POTENCY, BUT IT WILL LACK IN TASTE AND SMELL AS WELL. WHY? SIMPLE, ITS BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T GIVEN THE PLANT LONG ENOUGH FOR ITS TERPENES (RESPONSIBLE FOR SMELL/TASTE) TO FULLY DEVELOP AND MATURE.

So, there ya go. Maybe typing it in all CAPS like a teenager wanting attention will get people to read?? I dunno.. I'm almost at a loss here.

anyhow, I'm not bashing anyone, I'm not "attacking" anyone... simply trying to help educate the noobs around here.

peace.

Even with all the CAPS it was good, lol, I felt like I was being yelled at. Isn't it amazing the number of people that spend months growing out a beautiful plant, then in a moment of either weakness, ingnorance, haste or following bad advice cut their girls down when they are so close to enjoying a mature plant.
So, to reenforce what Guru has said, be patient, read more, buy a microscope to check your trichs' progress (there are threads on this subject also). Since you are new to growing and to determining when your girl is finished I would suggest the following: Get the microscope and check your trichs regularly. You haven't stated your strain yet so or what type of high you are looking for from your plant, so this is a bit guessy. I would with this grow then start taking a small bud when your trichs get about 80% cloudy, then another at about 90% and so on until you find the desired high.
Yes this is a pain in the ass, there will be many that disagree but what you learn from doing it this way will zero you in on what you desire not settling for what others tell you is the correct combo of clear, cloudy or amber trichs. Everyone will be a bit different and also each strain will be a bit different. I still do this method with each new strain I grow and I beleive it will help you to understand the different stages.
Hope this helps and good luck

I would not advise people to "add at least a week, if not two" to advertised flowering times, and then wait another 7 to 10 more days to chop. There is such a thing as waiting too long. Hell sometimes people harvest before the expected flower time, and they are ripe. When to chop is not a formula, add a week here then wait this many days longer, its when they look ready to the grower. The best advice to give someone is to check the tricks and the overall look of the bud. When its ready for you then go for it.

To the OP nice plant, it looks like you have a couple more weeks to go, judging by all the white hairs, but you are getting close. Keep up the good work!
