You can tell by the high returns that people say they are getting from BHO, that something is wrong.
Look at it this way, sift or remove the trichs any way you like. Put your trichomes in one small pile, then take the rest of it and douse it with butane for as long as you want, purge it any way you want. What's left, doesn't make much of a product (or at least it doesn't in my opinon).
Okay so your left with a pile of trichomes, where almost all the buzz is anyway.
Now throw a solvent on that, I like to use grain alcahol cause it's safe. But you can use what you want, see how much oil of any type you get back on the return...

Nonpolar lipids and waxes, cell wall ballast, minor cannabinoids, terpenes, flavinoids, phenols.
You can remove the nonpolar lipids and waxes through winterization, that usually reduces the weight by about 10% and should increase potency accordingly. Some say winterizing affects flavor negatively, but pure THC won't taste good anyway IME. The only reliable way of creating pure, reference standard grade THC(or any other cannabinoids) at 97-98% purity is to use a fractionation tower.

i love both bubble bag and BHO but for smokin BHO rocks its the strongest stuff ive ever smoked because of its viscosity its to hard to sell for handling reasons as long as u use xtra filtered butane its safe IMHO i use my bubble bags for trim and sell that but i use straight ground buds to make BHO much less work to make the BHO also although WAY more dangerous to make plus the cost of the butane
