It is LEGAL to import mushroom spores into australia, provided you are doing so to study them under a microscope and not to grow psychadelic mushrooms.

Legal yes, doesn't mean you can just order them and have them sent to you. Normally with plant material you need some kind of import permit to have it sent to you in Australia from overseas, especially if you're in W.A or N.T you're definitely going to need to fill out some forms. Some cases you may need to fill out an import notice first or other cases they wait till they receive the item, quarantine it then send you an invoice / notice that you have to to fill out and send back. These things can cost money
