Is it me, or do seed co. have A+ Genetics that dont sell just cuz of their name/pic?

"Yo, man..... You want some Sour Grapes, or some Pepe Le Chem?"

lol....

I think those all look like some amazing strains, and have great parents.... But the name...... Bleh! :/

Did they shoot themselves in the foot?.... I think they need to rename those strains...lol

I guess that happens with alot of other seedbanks also..... It's really all about the name, and the picture chosen..

What do you think?..... Have you really bought seeds of a silly/lame named strain before, or one with a lame pic?

Why do seedbanks put pics of a plant 2 weeks into flower?... They normally never sell, unless its a proven strain with alot of buzz.... Nirvana does this with alot of dope strains.... Why the shitty pics? This is where seedbanks like TGA and THSeeds take the cake... Some seedbanks are just lazy and no attention to detail..... I could do this.. :)

Strain pic's can sometimes be mis-leading tbh and I don't take much notice of them myself really as I buy on breeder reliabilty/capability and of corse the parent strains used to breed said strain. The strains your bashing there are actually of great quality if you know of their parentage. "Pepe le Chem" for instance is ~ ChemD X G13Skunk ~ (male G13SK is nicknamed "Pepe" by the breeder hence the name).
Here's my Grape Stomper OG ~ 45 days into flower, this strain is also known as "Sour Grapes" by some...

Just cos a strain has a great looking pic next to it on the seedbank listing doesn't instantly make it good or what your actually gonna get from a pack of seeds from that strain either mate. Makin a choice to buy based on this alone is a total noob error too imo. Riot seeds are a good example of the picture being not what your gonna get at all. Look into this some more and you'll see what I mean. How many times is this same tactic is used in advertising esp' in the fast food industry where the pic isn't what your gonna get at all. Rather than getting a big juicy lookin burger you get a small imitation of what was promised in the pic. Don't put all your trust in a breeder's wares just cos they can take a nice photo is what I'm sayin.

Yeah.... I'm not bashing Pepe Le Chem at all... I'm saying they are awesome, but ppl dont know better, because it doesnt have that "catchy"/"Cool" name like others.... If you check out Gage Green on attitude, and check out the only sold out strains that are the same price as grape stomper.... Cindy Le Chem and Pepe Le Chem :/.... See a pattern there? hmm.. I'm sure they are both just as good or better than the others.... I think I wanna pull the trigger on Cindy... Hmmm...

i usually stay away from the 'hyped' up named strains...whats in a name...especially when they are "clone only" yet somehow made it to spain or holland

Oh right I get ya now bro, I thought you were falling for the pic advertising thing there for a moment lol. I have a pack of their Cindy la Pew too lol, the mix of Cindy99 X G13Skunk just sounded to good to pass on imo. They just need growing out and for someone to get the word out on how good these strains actually are is all. They're still pretty new to the seed selling game and haven't gained a proper rep' like say MNS have yet. Sometimes some real gems are there just waiting to be discovered or it could just as easy be more of the average same old, but thats the chance we take when trying something new.

All of gages gear looks sick. Cindy le pew, pepe le chem, lemon fuse, lemon stomper and the obvious grape stompers are all on my list lol.

I pretty much memorised there entire inventory.

Thats why freebie's are so good....you get the chance to try strain's you would'nt normally buy. I tried the afrodite freebie (kannabia seeds), because I was short on genetics, and holy shit I'm glad I did!!! That was a strain I would of never looked into otherwise.

I recently ordered a pack of "Royala Guavella" off of seedbay. Supposed to be Mosca's C-99 x Reeferman's Early Purple Kush. The combo sounded good to me...and a pack of 13 is only $35, so I figured what the heck. When I do grow it out, though, I doubt that I'd ever refer to it by its "given" name, since it sounds stupid. Maybe just "Pineapple Kush" or something like that.

I did purchase a pack of Gage Green's Blackberry Pie a little while ago. I don't expect it to taste like blackberries, I just want to try out a different white widow cross. Could be a while before I get to it, though...my strain collection is getting a little out of control, lol

For me I have a couple friends in Cali who told me they didnt' care for G13. (The strain not the seed co). As a result I don't order anything with G13 in it.

Tardis your missing out.

G13 is a strain that produces better offspring than itself. Kinda like original haze. Most ppl don't like g13. There's too many more flavorfull smokes.

When you pass on the resin output and yield increase with a hasg plant, or haze, or white widow, etc etc.

Imo

Like everyone says... But it's true.... Haze (G13 or any) Is a love or hate strain.... Either You love it, and it makes you feel good, or you dont like how it makes you feel... Jittery or "Paranoid"... Just because your buddies didnt care for it, doesnt mean you wont love it..... Try it out, I say..... I have not tried out a G-13, but I really want to.... Gonna grow out Sour Cream soon.... As far as a pure G 13, That will have to wait...... But, oh, yes... I am a Haze Lover :)

I think a lot of people hate certain strains because they were told it was something like haze or G13 and it was probably a hybrid and a shitty pheno. Most of the time people make decisions based on limited knowledge and experience when it comes to cannabis. It also pisses me of when I see someone grow out 1 or 2 seeds and bash a whole line of genetics just because they didn't find the holy grail.

stonedmetalhead so true.... and i belong to love g13 group. to me its like comfort food in ganja ive been around it for so long the smell and taste take me back. i also think that a lot of companies target different kinds of buyers. like with gage its in the genes not the names. then there are others like the "dreaded greenhouse" who market the name.

I sure have gotten beans with a shitty name, growing em out right now. They are called Chocolate Piss(catpiss x og chocolate thai), seen the name and knew I had to have em. Took me almost 2 years to decide to grow em.
I can't wait when people ask what they are smoking and I just smile and ask do you really want to know?

I don't judge books by their covers. When i grew my first grow not knowing too much about strains, sure, names were catchy, but that ended very fast and i grew what would be a good plant, not what would have a great name. Fuck, Mr Nice sells a strain called Shit and you know what, that shit sells. Another example would be found in the 600 club, where strains such as DoG and Psychosis are some of the more sought after, why would you want to grow a dog and why would you want to smoke something named after something you most definately do not want?

The only time where a name is really of any importance is if you're slinging to kiddies and they're susceptible like that. Still amuses me that people get all trippy and excited by pineapple express.

The name game is for noobs or dealers.

Riot (who I put up a thread about) are a new company that seems to have it's soul purpose be in marketing. The names are all like Clockwork Orange and James Bondage and Clusterfuck, but if you look at the genetics it's just like what everyone else is doing, just double the price, that plus apparently they have stolen pics of similar seeds to put up as their finished product.

Really glad to hear that Green Apple. I just posted a thread about Afrodite today. I won't get to try the smoke for a few weeks but I love the way it grows, the pheno I got anyway. No side branches to speak of, just nice tall bud-laden stalks. 5-6 beefy ones on my plant, doing LST.
