is it normal?

I currently have a chrystal plant(Northern lights X White Widow) that is 3 weeks old, and I know it's normal for the cotyledons and first 2 fan leaves to die off but is it also normal for the first set of leaves to turn yellow and die too? I mean the ones that have only 3 leaves on each set. I will get pictures later today.

how far away are the lights? maybe the bottom just isnt getting enough light.

well I have a 400w MH 3 feet away right now and today I just put two 42 watt cfls under the plant.

btw my ph is at 6.8, I mixed 15% blood meal and a 10% bone meal into the soil, the only fertilizers that have been used are a root stimulator when I transplanted.

I also wanted to know how many nodes a plant is usually supposed to have at 24 days? Mine's got 8 currently and the 9th is growing , it's just REALLY short compared to other plants it's age.

Damn the problem seemed to stop for awhile but now the lower leaves are almost completely yellow in just 9 hours.

Come on this is just getting worse and worse I need some help fast.. I thought it was a nitro defficiency but I have blood meal already in the soil. Is it possible to over fert with blood meal?

i know that u cant overfeed with bonemeal. My grandfather like his roses and its one thing i can always remember him saying that. you need to mix it well into the soil cos if u dont bonemeal will float to the top. I cant actually remember which is higher in nitrogen, Bone meal or blood meal? I take it its blood meal or u wouldnt have it(?)

Can som eone help with this one? guy needs it asap i know the feeling mate.

Well I've mixed blood meal into the soil and I used too much of it, is there anyway to correct it? I don't wanna have to wash all the soil off the root ball.

Yeah I did, I just do a flushing on every water. that way by the time the nitrogen does get to a point where it hurts the plant it is washed away. it has been working very nicely.

i feed mine starting with low doses then working my way slowly up to the point where i just see the leaf tips turning white. just the very tips. then i hold them there with regular feedings. it took years to get "the feel" for doing this. one little overdose and i'm set back at least a week.

I'll start doing that with my next set of plants, since none of them have any blood meal in the soil.

keep a close eye on the tips of the top new growth. those are your "tachometer". they will tell you what you need to know.

Will do. so far so good with my new ones, and the old. thanks for the help

blood meal is the one with nitrogen... I wouldn't worry about it...plants lose leaves... and yea blood meal can be over used pretty easily.
