Sorry for the delay guys. The struggle is real lol. And yeah JDog I did a whole res flush and clean. That big bloom from Fox Farm might be good for some but it just made my res and roots a total mess. It stained them all brown and left a nasty residue from all the organic stuff. A bunch of fan leaves were absolutely burned and pretty much dilapidated so removed the totally dead ones to give some space to the new growth. After sitting in 1/4 strength of just grow big with a tiny amount of silica for stress they are bouncing back big time. I just dropped the Fox Farm lineup for AN Sensi Grow. Hopefully it will be much cleaner since it doesn't use all those organic ingredients. Haven't started using just yet because I wanna let em settle a little and recover without stressing an too much. Plus the ph buffered nutes should help stabilize those big ph swings also. All in all they are starting to grow again and fast. I have a ton of new pretty bleach white fuzzy root growth even out of the stained up old roots.
Budly sorry for the long wait on the pic but here are a few pics of both the plants and the roots. Notice all the shitty brown discoloration from the organic nutes. And just fyi I'm almost positive it's not root rot. Just the result of running organics in hydro IMO. But hey it's just an educated guess and I Hope I'm not wrong because that's a whole 'nother ball game. Let me know what you guys think.

NOT ROOT ROT!! The Organic stuff always makes that mess. You Sir are on your way! Stay on top of the tank. When you decide to flip, stay with the grow food until stretch is done. With the new growth they will be wanting more food. Ease them up. It's Always cool when you hit the sweet spot with the Ph and PPM staying stable. Won't last too long, the plants needs will change. Top off the tank with pH'd water, Change the tank when you replace the solution with an equal amount of Plain water.
When you stop guessing and have a "Game Plan," The grow gets to be fun. You can try training a Healthy plant instead of fixing a Fucked up tank.

I myself think yes it is rot, maybe not in the lack of DO sense but certainly not healthy and just stained. Was it brought on by the organics, maybe. It's not the end of the world though, keep an eye on it with the new nutes. I started using hydroguard when the roots were shit and it did help but I use nothing now and keep res at 66-67 consistently. I have also found keeping PH below 6.2 and trying to maintain 5.7ish works well. If it drops I change res if not before. Good luck.

Not much difference really Budley. They still have that awful color. I am however still seeing fresh "white" root growth even out of the tangled brown ones. Seems like they are getting better though The roots have a slightly rinsed off look and appear a little cleaner than before. Here are a few pics. At least the plants are looking better lol.

Yeah that blows about the yield. And I don't think the light gets through the lid but I'm not 100%. I am using the white netpot lids. I check my res temps and they stay below 75 and average around 68. I've heard about hydroguard but haven't done any in depth research on it.

Subbed up so i can watch you bring these plants back to health, so far i'm assuming you were over fertilizing and now youve dropped the levels the new growth is looking promising
Thanks Kingrow1. It's my first grow and it's hydroponics at that so I am just learning from experience as well as from all the great advice on the forum. So far it's like learning to drive an exotic sports car or bike. When things are good they are great, but things can go wrong fast as I've learned.

Those roots are not happy. I think it's deficiency. But fix what's killing your roots first.

No doubt I'm definately trying to. Any suggestions like maybe misting the roots with a diluted hydrogen peroxide and phd water mix?

I thought your res was 65, so part of your problem is your temps IMO. I start to have issues over 70 and it happens fast. You can try more air and/or hydroguard or similar product but to get the most from your setup you need to chill the water. Yes you can get through a run with temps in the low 70's as I've done it but things really popped when I lowered the temps.

I have used everything to try and keep roots healthy and while bleach and H2O2 work, I struggled with getting the right mix so switched to hydroguard which can't be overused other than its kinda pricey, but also at the same time chilled the res., now I just chill the res and all is good. I can't get hydroguard here anymore so was forced into forgoing it and honestly it seems all most the same so it was the cool water for the win. tty is right though, you need to solve the roots then work on the rest if needed.

Yeah temps have bene the biggest problem to keep stable. I'm gonna upgrade my 6" inline fan to a really good 8" and add a res chiller. Sounds like a good bet to invest in some hydroguard too.

If I didn't know how to build em I would search for a used ecoplus/or similar chiller myself. Look for coopernickle or titanium heat exchanger if possible.
