Is it ok to cut off one cola before the rest?

Theoretically if one cola is more developed than the rest (composed of cloudy/amber trichomes) while the other colas still have some clear ones. Would it be ok to cut off that cola and begin curing it, allowing the rest of the plant an additional week or 2 to mature a bit more

Yea for sure, just make sure its from the middle or top. Just dry it for a few days, then cure it in a mason jar.

Yep, the cut from the middle or top. Most the time that will be the more mature at this point. Where on the plant is the cola you wanna take?

by all means mate. its the trichs that let you know how ready you want your smoke, not having a dig Kush 714 but it doesnt matter where you take it from but yeah generally the middle to top part of the plant if let grown naturally is a more mature as it recieves more light
