Is it ok to mix lights?

I know this might sound like a weird question but right now the light that i'm using is a pretty decent fluorescent but it is kind of small so it's not reaching the lower leaves. I was wondering if it would be ok to put an extra, small normal fluorescent light more in line with lower leaves without hurting the plant?

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Sure, you can do that no problem. Getting light to your plants, from pretty much any source and any direction is not going to hurt your plants imo.

I did a project a while ago when I was in high school, it was simple really. What color spectrum helps plants the most. Red was the top result, I figured out thats probably why leaves are green becuase it absorbs the red color spectrum from light rays. Try growing with some red colored bulbs and grow bulbs in the mix.
