I got some seeds coming in the mail one of them is auto. I've never grown this type of strain before so I was woundering if it is possible to clone and if so is there a certain time that it has to be cut? Thanks!

The overwhelmingly poular answer on this is no. I have read some posts where others disagree and claim to have done so successfully. So, my best suggestion is to do some research and learn what you can. There is an auto-strain forum here on RIU. Best of luck!

Technically you can but the clone will be the same age as its mother therefore it will stay very very small and yield next to nothing.

I tried some Auto Haze seeds a few summers ago. They took a couple of weeks longer than most auto strains and they cloned well. Then, as predicted, they flowered at the same time as the mother. I wanted more seeds so I kept my favorite male and pollinated the girls. That winter I had a ton of seeds, and they kept my pc box rolling all winter, as well as an outdoor spring crop the next year! Rooting out all the males sucks, but the haze genetics really stretch after they show sex, it works out.

dang oh dang! Well thanks for the info fellas looks like that will be the last of the autoflowering for me, I can't afford not being able to clone. Thanks

as rascality afoot pointed out, you could make seeds. I have a couple Fem Auto freebies from Attitude that I plan on starting just for seed stock. Here's my plan, I only have one seed of each so I keep the origianal female and Clone her, It will not matter when the clones flower because I will force them to Produce Feminized pollen thru stress using Colloidal Siver. I will then cross that pollen with original seed start and, WALA, Feminized Seeds of your Autos!!

yeah that's what I'm doing too, I got a freebee from attitude also so I wanted to keep it going. So what your saying is to clone normally let grow and it will give me seeds?

I have a Purple Automatic from Pyramid seeds. They grow beautifully, but any clone taken would be the same genetic age as its parent. Therefore the same length of time away from flowering as her mother. In the case of auto's I would just order more seeds. They really do seem to go very nicely and this particular strain seems far more resistant to disease in comparison to other strains I have used thus far and very easy to grow and flower. 2 downsides: no clones and likes alot more light time.
