Is it ready to harvest? I have some pics.

This is my first grow and it is an outdoor grow. I don't have a microscope and I took some pics with my digital camera as close up as I could get the camera too go. As far as I can tell from my pics is that the trichomes look to be milky to me. Most of the hairs are brown also. I did not keep an accurate account of the flowering time but I believe it has been around 9-10 weeks also I planted these things way later than I should have. I sprouted them at the end of june like the 25 or so if I remember right so they did not grow to big but oh well this was just kind of a trial run so to speak to prepare for next season just to learn. Any ways the plant tried to hermie on me just about a week or so ago like 8 weeks into flowering I just picked the nanners off.(just a few) Now it is foxtailing with new growth. Can any of you experienced guys determin from my pics if I should go ahead and harvest? I know the pics don't show real close up trichome shots but if you blow up the pics some you can make out the triches better also. But they do look milky to me, But I would like some opinions from those who are experienced growers. The extra growth is throwing me off as I don't know if I should let it go longer or not. Thanks for any input. P.S. I noticed it says my pics are 800x600 I'm guessing this site downscales the pics? If so I don't know if the pics can be seen in enough detail or not as original pics are like 3000x2000 I hope it's detailed enough for some to be able to use as a reference for trich development.

Have you got any pics of the main cola of this plant. The pics look like only from the side branches. From my vantage point, I see some fresh growth among those buds. Not altogether a bad thing. It just shows your plant is still alive and still producing even at this relatively late stage. You mention you have no access to a scope to see the trics in better view. In the absence of some magnification for the trics, you will most likely go with state of the calyxes (little bud beneath the actual pistil or hair). Again the pics appear to be from the smaller buds and not the main cola. So with that in mind it is very difficult to determine if the whole plant is at the same stage of development. The smaller bud pics look a week from harvest. They are really swollen and have a nice amount of resin on them. When the whole plant reaches that appearance , then you are nearly there. Two options . One is to wait until the full plant is ready. Or, secondly, you could consider a partial harvest of the smaller riper buds and then wait for the other parts to finish in time. ........before others get in ........really think about getting a scope .....they are only 10 bucks or so at radioshack.....that is the surefire way of knowing for sure when to chop ................You have a good looking plant there .......happy tokes !

hey, im not an expert, but if it has new growth, why wouldn't you want to let it go longer?( and if there's a reason, teach me) weather or deer an issue? cover them at night if possible(for complete darkness too). to the naked eye, they don't look like they have even produced close to what u want(in amount and coverage) of trichomes. hey its cold where I am(usually) and mine are still out there. im greatful mine got this far.... good luck, happy mediating water pipe rips

Believe it or not that is a main cola, The plant's are stunted because I started them so late I imagine there just under 3 ft. But the weather has been hot like high 80-90 up until this week now high 70's I'm in the deep south east and if the weather is anything like last year I could let it go until late december if I wanted. I just don't want to wait to long and have the triches go all amber on me. It's just some bagseed sativa. This plant developed sooner than the others I have though by about 2 week's I would say. Also none of the fan leaves have gone yellow either which I assume is a sign of the plant being ready. It's just confusing because most of the hairs have gone brown until this recent new foxtail growth appeared. Perhaps I'll just let it go for another month if I can get away with it as long as it does not try and throw out some more nanners as I would rather not pollinate the others. But then again maybe that would not be so bad as from what I understand the seeds would be feminized which would be a good thing for a grow next season as long as this bud turns out to be any good that is. If I would have started these plant 2 months earlier like I should have they would have been a good deal larger and more productive I'm sure. I did not start these until end of june.

Well it did go hermie with a few nanners that popped up maybe 5-6 of them a week ago. I just pulled them and have not seen any more since. But male, I don't see how you can say that? There is bud and no pollen sacs on it. I'm going to assume you were just joking.

Not stunted, thats just how it grows. Looks like a kush plant to me. It will be some excellent smoke with a good dry, and cure. Its ready to be harvested and you can cut it down. Enjoy
