Is it time to flip my light?

I have been debating if my SCROG is full enough to switch the light? What are your thoughts?

This is the first time I have done a scrog grow.

Equipment
4x4 tent
1000w MH
440 cfm inline fan
2-6" fan for circulation
dehumidifier (live in the PNW)

Plants (from clone)
1 headband
1 jack herer
2 blue dream
15 gallon pots
Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil
Earth Juice Nutes (catalyst, micro, grow, bloom, meta k)

77*F 45% RH light on
65*F 55% RH light off

Any comments would be appreciated!

the longer you veg, the more bud your going to have. most plants double in size during flower. I like to get my horizontal branches at least 8inches long or 6-15 nodes depending on strain before flower. imo I would wait another 2 weeks to make sure you have a full screen, good luck

Thanks sativa indica pits! I've never grown these strains before and don't know how much they are going to stretch. Thanks for your input! I was thinking about waiting another week or so, but wanted the advice from scrog growers.

ive actually started tying my branches to copper wire, tryed the screen thing and found it was a pain in the ass, But i was also trying to grow over 50 plants under the same screen. probably 4-6 would have been easier to control, lol but its the same idea just mobile and not fixxed in one location

you want your screen 70% filled or so. you do not want to fill it in veg, because of the stretch in flower. just keep pulling the tops down below the screen when they get a couple three inches or so above the screen. you can guide the tops to open spaces in your screen. you can use bread ties to keep them in place for a couple days, till the plants get the idea. don't leave the ties on though. i think you made a mistake with your pot size, too big. hopefully the plants won't grow into giants, and outgrow the screen. the only thing you want above the screen is buds, not long stems, with buds way up. you don't get big fat buds like a regular growing plant, but you should get a lot more, just smaller in size. there are some people out there that just throw a screen over some plants, and let them grow up through it. that's not a scrog, imo.

Thanks Silky! I knew to wait till about 70% but wanted to know if mine looked ready. You really think I'm wrong using the pot size I did? Even if i switch the light within a week they shouldn't out grow my screen. If i were to be vegging for a couple more weeks, I would agree with you

well, the rule of thumb is 1 gallon of medium per foot of vertical growth. time will tell. looking good though, healthy.

So I flipped the light Friday the 21st. Im very glad I did because they would have out grown my screen. The girls have grown about 9" in only 4 days.

Silky, I understand what you mean now. I will use your advice in the future on scrog grows. I am not use to having a limit on height or space, so this is different for me. thank you for the advice.

i haven't done scrog but that looks good to go... i would flip it now if i were you.

You could flip now or wait a week or so. I was surprised at the 15 gallon pots. Most use smaller pots and more plants, doesn't get you any more product, but shortens veg time.

I just noticed the date on the OP. I guess you've already harvested by now.

This was my first scrog grow so i used containers that i had been using for my other grows. I will not use this big again. And I'm only 5 days into flower! There will be more pics when the girls start to really bloom!

My firts scrog had 24 plants in a 4x8 tent. Way too many. edit: first ................ I'm too high to type.

24!!! WOW! that must have been a pain to water the back plants!

Aeroponic, no trouble at all. Did 19 in dirt the same tent with the tent against the wall. THAT was a pain.
