can i top this plant? This is my 1st time growing from clone and also my 1st time topping. Is there a spot where i start to count nodes on a clone, or is a node a node? Sorry if this sounds dumb. Thanks in advance

I would wait and I would put another 4 inches of soil in that pot

you count nodes (place where a leaf stem protudes) from the bottom up

Yep, it's plenty big enough to be topped, if you wish.

And basically, a node is a node, so you'd count each set of leaves/branches, if you're interested in finding the number of them. :)

Just depends on what you want. You can top a plant after the first node on a seedling if you wanted. It would probably stunt it being so young but it would work. Then you would have 2 main colas. If you wait until you have a lot of nodes they will all grow out, making it bushier.

Then you can decide on whether or not to LST or super crop. This makes the veg stage take a little longer if you want her to fill a space, but it will raise your yield. If she is bushy you will get more fluff bud (little popcorn nugs with no weight) from down low where not much light can go. If you LST and flower right away there may not be as much shade on the lower parts so you will get less fluff bud.

There are a lot of different factor that will effect what will happen. Genetics will play a roll also. If she continues to grow with small spacing between the nodes LST'ing isn't always the best idea because it will take forever to fill the space designated for her. For a sativa that stretches a lot you can use LST'ing to make it fit in a grow box that would normally never be able to contain it.

Just keep track of what you do so you know what to do or not to do next time.

My personal opinion would be to let her grow a little bit more before topping, but I am not really sure what you are trying to achieve. I would also add more soil to the container. It's good to have her open above the soil but that is a lot of bear stem. The more soil she has the more roots that can grow. So if you fill it to about an inch or 2 below the pot lip I think you'll notice some explosive growth within the next week after the new roots spread out.
