i guy on this forum told me that indicas dont grow roots once u put on 12/12 is that true, couse i have some mothers from whitch i take clones and intend to flower some after 1 week veg. some after 2 weeks veg. but now if this is so then i wouldnt get much of my plants with such small root size.then again i saw some people do it almost from seed 12/12 and get nice plants

Yeh I read that somewhere, plants don't grow alot of roots during the bud faze.
actually, flower is when the most root growth occurs. this is because of the ratio of nutrients; p = roots. what do you feed high amounts of in flower?

i know this is of the subject but i just wana check, my fert 15-40-15 is it ok,i got some potassium so i was thinking of adding a little bit of that to the mix,now i feed em 35g 15-40-15 per 11 gallons of water, was gonna make it 30g /15-40-15 and 5 g potassium/ is this unnecessary

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pot does NOT like super phosphates. you want a 123 ratio, low n, medium p, high k (ie 5-10-15)

Hey Panta

It was me that said about the roots of Indica. I grow 12/12 from seed so my setup is slightly different to yours but I grow in clear containers so I know exactly what's happening with my roots. Here's a pic to clarify what I said. On the left is an Amstel Gold pure indica strain. It's tiny but it is in flower. You can see it's pretty small and weedy and there's no roots showing in the pot. On the right is an Ice Cream which is around 25% sativa and 14 days older. I can see the Ice Cream rootstock growing daily but there's very little growth on the Amstel Gold. The same happens with any pure indica I put in there and obviously affects my yields which is why I tend to stick to something with about 20% sativa genetics these days.

I use clear containers to keep an eye on the roots. Due to space restrictions I only use 1 litre pots for the whole grow so I need to know what works and what doesn't.
I read that clear pots aren't good for them but in my experience it has no negative effects.

I would beg to differ with the idea that putting P in the nutes means they are growing roots. Just cos you put it in does not mean the plant is using it. Coco grows are regulated by measuring what goes in and comes back out, so clearly not everything gets used up.

The only way to know anything for sure is to try it out for yourself and learn from your mistakes. Good luck with your grow and let us know how it turns out.
