Is it worth it?

Got six seeds growing and it dawned on me..

Is it worth it..

The electric, the seeds the soil the food harvesting.

Is it cost effective over buying a few oz?

Say I'm growing 4 plants and at best I'll get two oz's from each plant thats 8 oz

So the seeds cost 45 quid say...

Then the electric, any ideas on how much it would cost with one 100w grow cfl blub? for say 45days? 24/7

Then theres the 7 years inside to consider..

I love the idea of growing various strains like blueberry and stuff but I dont know whether I'm actually spending more money doing it myself?

If you can't save yourself money growing over buying you are either smoking a tiny amount, or you are terrible at growing, that's simply all that is. I could easily grow a two year supply in four months if I wanted to, and on a limited equipment budget.

If you can't save yourself money you're doing it wrong Think of the seeds as a one off cost, you can clone them out, additional seeds and strains is a want as opposed to a need.

In 1 month i will pull in around 5 or 6 ounces, that would have cost me around £1000, i do not use £1000 of electricity or nutes etc in one month.

Also, 6 seeds under a single 100w cfl would most likely be a waste of time as opposed to not being cost-effective

Tip how much does growing affect your bills?

I can't honestly say to be honest, it has turned out that my bills have been fucked since i moved in. My most recent bill though was for £160 for 3 months, so i guess only about 35% of that bill is grow related (i run a 400w hps and a 125w cfl at present along with a handful of air pumps).

dude i run a 250watt cfl and 2x 100watt cfls and i hardly notice the extra juice on a key meter still only use 10bucks a week

you have 6 seeds, your going to need a bare minimum of 516w of cfl's.... you have a ways to go....

I grew out over 4 ounces of primo for about $150 worth of electricity. With nutes, water and sundries, another $150. That is $300 for over a 1/4 pound. Can it be bought that cheap? For schwag or brick, maybe. For anything mid, doubtful. For high end, not a chance!

Not to sound too much like a dick, but these are things you must take into consideration before going on this endeavour. If you're only a few days in with 6 seeds, you're probably going to get real paranoid when you're blazed and you have a bunch of big plants going. Another thing that draws me to growing my own is that I know the source. I'm not smoking weed that has cost anyone any harm, by that I mean cartels, gangs, and people that also sell other things that ruin peoples lives. You have to weigh risk vs reward, it's a process that takes time and growing becomes it's own addiction. I know cats that don't even smoke but love to grow. Only you can decide what's best for you! yeah thanks guys.... Moved all my plants outside.

Gonna build a new grow space inside - and I'll be using two 300 watt cfls with reflectors and 8 30watt energy lights

Are you gonna veg. under those and then switch or gonna try to take it all the way through till the end of flower?
