Is my fan working right?

Hey.. I ordered a TD-150 fan.. supposively very quiet efficient fans.. It doesnt feel like its that powerful and it advertises 150-290cfm.. for some reason my 4" inline 123 cfm feels stronger..

maybe its not wired correctly or I need to adjust something????

please help.

I hooked the fan up to the cooltube to see how it would reduce heat.. and it didnt do shitt lol.. theres no way it could pull through a scrubber too. There must be something wrong.


PLEASE HELP!

Is that a ground hooked up? To hook up the fan the The white is nutrual or common. Connect one wire to this one. And depending on what speed you want to run it....connect the other wire to black (high) or brown (low). Lose the ground completely. It looks like you have it correct in the picture if you just remove the ground (green wire).

As far as cfm. Rember it is a mixing fan. It will not deal that great with static pressure. Still a nice fan though.

ok after going to lowes and buying two of the wrong dimmer switches i came home and found a 3way rotary switch...

theres a blue, black, and red wire.. blue and red are the different speeds and black is off..

what do I do?

ahh i said fuck the rotary switch and just realized how to hook it up without the switch.. for high power attatch the white wire to white and the black wire to the middle, and leaving the bare wire alone. Thanks for the help... i just have it running on high which is how I wanted it.

So I ditched the rotary switch and figured out how to wire the fan to high speed.

its powerful and quieter than my 4" vortex.

I only had it on the bed for a second. DONT FREAK OUTT:twisted::twisted:

where did you get the cool tube? It looks bigger than my pyrex bake around. I am looking for a bigger tube to create less drag.

Does that 4 in fan or 170 cfm fan cool a 400 watt in a cool tube enuf. I have a 400 and am hoping that a 4 in will do the job in a cooltube. A 6 in worked but i need that elsewhere. A 6 in barely cools my 600, to room.

one suggestion would be to install a bushing to support the wire where it enters the fan. They cost about 50 cents and can prevent a much more costly fire or frying the fan.
