Hey guys, my res gets down to like 56°F (I think that's like 15-16°C) sometimes. Its usually around 61-63 with lights on. My setup needs some fine tuning, I've got some light leaks and have been dealing with a little bit of slime starting this week, I didnt think it was all that bad until I realize it had clogged the sprayers on the very end, farthest from the res/pump.
I've been treating with hygrozyme with every res change, + periodically adding some. I was also treating with H2o2 but ran out of both for a few days. I also have botanicares aquashield, is it the same thing as hygrozyme? I know people refer to it as "beneficial microbes", even though its just an enzyme (if I'm not mistaken) that helps break shit down, so that bacteria can dispose of it the rest of the way. But I notice aquashield says "liquid compost solution" so I'm not sure if they are the same thing or what, so I've not been using it.
I think tomorrow I'm gonna pick up some pondzyme from the pet store, see how it works out. Just wondering if my temps are getting too low for the plants to grow at their full potential, or for bacteria to be able to do its job.
